A7X to appear on Ozzfest

2006-05-21 by Thor | 30 Comments
OZZfest has raised the stakes even higher this year by naming AVENGED SEVENFOLD as the final addition to this year’s main stage lineup. The band will join headliners OZZY OSBOURNE and SYSTEM OF A DOWN (who recently announced on MTV.com that OZZfest would mark the band’s final tour before going on an indefinite hiatus) plus DISTURBED, HATEBREED, LACUNA COIL and (also just added) power metal phenomenon DRAGONFORCE on the 27-date North American tour when it launches June 29 in Seattle at White River Amphitheatre.
"Ozzfest has so much history,” says AVENGED SEVENFOLD vocalist M. Shadows. “We are honored to be sharing the stage with so many great bands and even more excited in being part of the legacy that is Ozzfest."
The Huntington Beach, California quintet AVENGED SEVENFOLD featuring M. Shadows (vocals), Synyster Gates (lead guitar), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Johnny Christ (bass) and The Reverend (drums) is embracing the ride of their wildly successful release City of Evil on Warner Bros. Records. The Mudrock-produced, certified gold album "incorporates epic guitar solos, a bowel-rumbling bottom end and the gloomy imagery of vintage British metal" (Rolling Stone). The album has spawned such hits as “Bat Country” and “Beast and The Harlot,” with the emotive and rocking “Seize The Day” to follow. “Bat Country” was a Top 5 Alternative track and went #1 at Active Rock, while “Beast and The Harlot” went Top 5 at Active Rock. Videos for both songs have been in heavy rotation at MTV, MTV2, MTVU, Fuse and Yahoo! The band has been a dominating force on MySpace with over 5,500,000 hits to their page. Revolver declared the band "decadent, deafening, and definitely destined for greatness." Truer words have not been spoken.
Meanwhile, OSBOURNE--who recently announced an OZZfest first with his decision to headline the second stage at the festival’s July 8 stop at San Bernardino, CA’s Hyundai Pavilion of Glen Helen--has elected to headline two additional shows on the second stage on this summer’s trek (July 11 in San Antonio, TX at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and July 22 in East Troy, WI at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre). The move will place the festival’s founder and namesake directly into the outstretched hands of his devoted fans.
As previously announced, OZZfest’s second stage will be headlined by the Zakk Wylde-led BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, with such high-decibel bands as ATREYU, UNEARTH, BLEEDING THROUGH, NORMA JEAN, A LIFE ONCE LOST, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, THE RED CHORD, FULL BLOWN CHAOS, WALLS OF JERICHO, ALL THAT REMAINS, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and BAD ACID TRIP.

This may be the worst Ozzfest line-up yet, although it's never really been good in the first place.
Warped Tour ftw.

A7X are douches. They think they're the most important band around and say stuff like they're too big and too good for Warped.

The line-up at warped doesn't look too great either. The reason I may go is because of Thursday.

I would only go to see Between the Buried and Me. Actually, I wouldn't go at all.

On another note: Lollapalooza is really good this year, as always.

Ozzfest last year was one of the greatest days of my life.
Ozzfest this year will blow, though I am happy Avenged Sevenfold is going cause in my opinion theyre a good band. I still dont plan to go, its Sounds of the Underground and Unholy Alliance for me!!

Yeah Ozzfest is pretty awful this year. Avenged was a great band live, but their egos really bother me anymore. They are way too into the "Hey look, we are famous check out who we just met" mindset.
For me, I'll pass on Ozzfest and go to Sounds of the Underground and Warped Tour.

I don't. Personally, I despise Avenged Sevenfold. System should be cool unless Daron decides to take lead vocals there as well.

The singles off Toxicity were good because Daron didn't whine through his nose on them.

Get back in your cage, noob.

Anyway, I think I'll go just for A7X, SOAD, and Dragonforce. There's nothing else worth seeing in the line-up. Fuckin' Atreyu, man...

I would go only to see Norma Jean, BTBAM, and The Red Chord. I probrally won't go. I've already seen BTBAM twice and The Red Chord.

Ozzfest last year was one of the greatest days of my life.

Oh hell yea! Last year it was badass! Saw alot of bands that I really enjoyed, but I had to sit through a few s***ty bands, like that one with Will Smith's wife as the singer...god that was bad...and As I Lay Dying...ehh
But I got to see the heavy metal legends Iron Maiden, and I about had a seizure cause they were so effing mind blowing!

Ozzfest really is gay! It's just a circlejerk of sh!tty glam metalcore/.../and punk bands pretending to be metal./ I would only go to see System and SYL, they are the only ones worth half the money. A7X, Atreyu, Unearth....WTF, I think I'm going to be sick!
