The Canyon was the correct direction. Don’t think this band is gunna course correct based on the titles..

Ever since Bert lost his edge the band has been trash. Losing Branden and then Quinn didn't help matters. Really the only post Love and Death album I can make it through is Artwork. It's ashamed because their first album is a classic and their second is pretty great as well.

i really like the canyon and a lot of heartwork (despite how bad some of it is and its lows are worse than any of these songs so far) but these are all leaning into my least favorite side of the band rn. if theyre j tryna be an edgy loud rock band for a full album im expecting one of their worst

I am excited for this album. “Fuck You” was my favorite The Used song of the past fifteen years probably. It better be on the album. Plus, Bert’s been screaming again in the studio so consider me cautiously optimistic.

Shit band.

I'll reserve any judgement till I hear the single. The Used has gotta be one of the most wildly inconsistent bands out there imo, with their highlights being fucking amazing and their low points being god awful. Recently they seem to waver back and forth between albums.

Agree with you 100% on this.

Need to listen to the last two albums still, but the two before those were mid. First three albums was quite the run though. First live band I ever saw (opening for The Offspring and Taking Back Sunday) and was a fan immediately. Great performers, regardless of where the writing goes.

Shit band Part II

Ngl, my 16yo self still loves All That I've Got.

My 15 year old self still loves the first two albums and tolerates the third and likes the 4th but fuck this band. Not even the same band anymore.

Justin Shekoski seems to have been so f'd over after helping them release The Canyon (their best writing in years) that everything after the canyon just feels wrong to me.

What happened there?

Joined as a touring member, made an official member when og guitarist decided not to return, helped write and record The Canyon, got in dispute with rest of band about how he was being paid, band kicked him out and filed for restraining order, restraining order not upheld by judge, sued The Used, got payment settled outside of court.

Two sides to every story, but feels like he got short end of the stick.

Then again Justin was also booted from Saosin so maybe he is the issue and his side of the story is BS. Who knows.

If he won, sounds like they were the problem.
