This tour in a nutshell:

2 hour sets each, adding up to a combined 5 songs.

^Nice

Seriously though, Opeth shouldn't be wasting their time opening for a band like Dream Theater. They're way better than that. This Message Edited On 09.27.07

^ :D So true.

It would be amazing if they did this in the UK too! Never gonna happen though...

Opeth should be wasting their time finishing the album they've allegedly been writing for the last two years.

This would be so fucking sweet if I could see this. Two of my three favorite bands. DT was awesome live, and I'd love to see Opeth.

It's definitely very true. DT suck.

Opeth are pretty good, DT suck pretty bad. Although Scenes is a great metal album. This concert would probably be really damn boring. Neither band does anything exciting when they play and the concert will be insanely long.

im definitely going to this if they come to L.A. i wouldnt say DT suck because they are definitely talented but they might just not be your taste

Opeth supporting Dream Theater? Shouldn't it be the opposite way around?

Opeth are definately too good to open for DT, but DT are too good to open for Opeth...if that makes sense. I would ahve to say I enjoy Opeth a little bit more, but if Opeth didnt have Still Life and Blackwater Park, I would probably like DT more.

And I loved the DT concert I was at, it passed very quickly for a two hour show (well, they only played 8 songs plus the medley at the end, maybe that had to do with it feeling quick) But I wasn't bored for one moment.

I actually had a feeling this might happen. It would be cool if they toured with Porc Tree as well.

I thought there was a lot more DT love on this site, now I don't feel special for not liking Scenes of a Memory anymore. I still really want to see this though.

Dream Theater and Opeth are two of the best progressive metal bands today, this is going to be awesome.

I can't think of two more different prog metal bands. Just make two tours. One with Symphony X and Dream Theater, and the other with Opeth and Amorphis or Insomnium.

I've had SO many opportunities to see Dream Theater and just didn't care, but the two of them together makes for a good enough reason I guess. A good and unexpected match.

This will be a solid concert still considering my last comment about Opeth opening up.

Opeth are awesome live. I saw about two songs worth of Dream Theater's set at Hellfest and tbh, I got bored pretty quickly and went off to go and wait to see Neurosis (I think...).
