This sounds like slightly heavier Skillet.
| |
Bands been ass since like 2010.
| |
Atlas, (and even Ire) had some bangers but they have been largely inconsistent as of late.
| |
What happened to these guys? This is awful.
| |
Can't wait to never listen to that again
| |
the only good part about the song is 2-second-long pre breakdown, at least it had some energy
| |
rip chester
| |
"This sounds like slightly heavier Skillet."
+1
| |
Yeah this is more đ©
| |
Has this shift in style even paid off for them at all? I live in Australia and I donât know a single person who still listens to them
| |
Atlas was the end of my enjoyment with them honestly. Maybe one song on there that I actually like. Then they just went full on dad metal/butt rock.
| |
You know shit's gonna suck when the vocalist is wearing all white
| |
every fan of this band has a ponytail and wears cargo shorts
| |
Saw this popup on the playlist in the gym yesterday. Incredible that this is basically still the same band that released Horizons and Deep Blue.
| |
Same exact guys after all these years, no lineup changes. They are capable of so much more, so I have no idea what the fuck they've been thinking since Ire.
| |
The 00s metalcore to butt rock train is something I never expected when I was listening to these bands in high school
| |
Assiest song i ever heard
| |
Chorus sounds like a less emotive Figure.09
| |
I know they had to jump off the metalcore train before it derailed but why did they have to jump off at dad rock/metal street⊠perhaps because itâs easy and doesnât take much creativity and they just feel like staying at cruising altitude for the rest of their career, but Iâm sure they had more in them.
@outliers in Australia most people who wore their shirts were meatheads and bogans and I was one of them. They were the one metal band that was cool for everyone to be into because the guys in the band looked like cool surfers as well so it didnât have the geeky connotation most metal does
| |
Straight up trash
| |
This is Skillet but LESS heavy
I liked a couple tracks on IRE and I liked Wishing Wells, but other than that I've never really liked these guys
| |
Oh my, this is worse than I could have imagined.
| |
It's impressive how much worse they can get
| |
terrible band
| |
They used to rule tho :[
| |
Yep. super sad
| |
I feel like everyone's been saying this for the past few albums but this is the worst song this band has done yet.
| |
For God's sake
| |
98.5 fm nothinâ but rock!!
| |
Iâm gonna go listen to mutiny and reminisce
| |
What happened to these guys? This is awful. [x2]
| |
They did the hard yards, now they wanna get paid.
Donât blame em but itâs a real shame
| |
band is the most guilty of changing their sound and songwriting for playing arenas.
| |
same band that played this show.. wtf
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhbyS1SuR7c
| |
On the arena thing funnily enough they released one of the best metalcore sing along songs on Deep Blue: Home is for the heartless. I also think most of Aus has fallen out of love with them tbh as they didnt even tour Aus when it was the only option to tour. Then again between fires, covid, insane floods not suprised.
| |
Double post. Aus metalcore seems to be weird atm
| |
I would rather listen to Nickelback than this bullshit
| |
The downfall of this band has been hard to watch. This song is fucking trash
| |
But I feel like theyâve dug their own grave here because as far as I can tell theyâre not getting played on the radio much if at all and are less popular than they were, but now the critics hate them
| |
i love this thread
| |
Lmao that opening riff is one of the laziest and most uninspired things ive ever heard. And then the vocals come in and my eyes start watering because im cringing so hard.
| |
Side note: I love the fucking muppet reaction channels who act as if theyâre blown away by everything theyâre told to listen to and never have a bad word to say âI think I probably liked horizons more but this was TIGHT yo and parkway are backâ
| |
Yeah that shits funny.
| |
The shift could just be the dude can't scream anymore. Just out of curiosity I listened to the horizons version of carrion live compared to the viva live album and his voice sounds so shot in the latter.
| |
*goes jams Horizons again*
| |
Yeah this is their worst single of their career so far, even wishing wells was ok. I like these guys and they are cool dudes but they will never top deep blue or Ire.
| |
This song is like when you have that clear juice come out of your butt
| |
Respect that the band is trying to appeal to a wider audience, but this is just not for me.
| |
theyâve been on epitaph their entire career not sure how this is making more money than their previous stuff
| |
On both Spotify and Apple Music their top songs appear to be largely dominated by reverence and ire songs so it appears to be working but Iâm not an expert idk
| |
fuck me thatâs sad to hear, but hey whatever gets that $$$. every buttrock fest needs openers *cough* code orange
| |
Ire is a strong album. They've dumbed themselves down considerably since then and Winston updated vocals do not gel with the band stylistically.
| |
Please stop doing this high pass filter on the cymbals for every modern mixes, they vanished into thin "pschhhhh"
| |
Code Orange is actually good tho.
| |
this is to all the dummies that think aussie metalcore is best lolll
| |
'The 00s metalcore to butt rock train is something I never expected when I was listening to these bands in high school'
loool same
| |
They've just reached the average age of butt rock listeners, kinda makes sense - sad thing is that I don't think it's greed behind the change of styles rather than becoming stale
| |
Credit where Credit is due the guys have always riffed and had gorgeous guitar tones. Song is pretty ass, haven't listened / purchased since Atlas.
| |
"Side note: I love the fucking muppet reaction channels who act as if theyâre blown away by everything theyâre told to listen to and never have a bad word to say âI think I probably liked horizons more but this was TIGHT yo and parkway are backâ
Nik Nocturnal's stupid face just popped up in my head
| |
Youtubers are bottom feeding parasites, only JUST a step above cell phone store workers.
| |
banger!
| |
"Side note: I love the fucking muppet reaction channels who act as if theyâre blown away by everything theyâre told to listen to and never have a bad word to say âI think I probably liked horizons more but this was TIGHT yo and parkway are backâ"
Those channels are the actual lowest-effort view-grab channels on youtube. Literally doesn't take any talent or effort, just sit there and be like "oh wow so guud, -insert music-related word salad here-". And yeah it is always positive, they never have a single negative thing to say. They know what they're doing there, because 99% of the people clicking their video will be fans of whatever band it is, so ofc you wanna say good things so those people keep watching your videos.
also all the dudes that do it wear paper boy hats to (I guess) look like they know what they're talking about, it's so hilarious and cringe
| |
Watching people react to music is really awkward honestly. Should be something you experience on your own or with a close friend
Like its the same shit every time. *breakdown hits* guy makes stink face and says "that's fireee" rinse and repeat. Maybe open their eyes wide when an unexpected part happens. So boring.
| |
METAL guitarist reacts to NEW Parkway Drive song [2022]! #banger
| |
Nik Nocturnal's stupid face just popped up in my head [2]
Only read bloc's comment so far and I thought almost those exact words.
| |
"You know shit's gonna suck when the vocalist is wearing all white"
Every 00s rapper is punching the air rn
| |
Here it is. AIDS in musical form.
| |
I read this whole thread before listening to the song and actually fucking LOL'd as soon as the vocals came in.
| |
Had to stop it after a minute. Not good.
| |
reaction faces, esp NN's, should be scrubbed from the homepage of YT. i blocked that fucker and his stupid butthole eyes keep popping up when im just tryna jam some ish in the background while i research crystals and shit maaaaan
| |
also fantano. he is the most soy dumpling i have ever had to unwillingly look at the bald, over self absorbed ego of before.
thats probably not even a sentence but i don't even care. fantano's so popular and i find him insufferable tbh
| |
Snooze
| |
now this is true rock n roll!!
| |
Or all the âblack guy reacts to heavy metalâ and there he is bopping his head to burzum saying stuff like âshit son they going INâ âyo this is fire emojiâ and itâs just so tacky and feel like it keeps some crass stereotypes going but whatever I guess I shouldnât let stuff like this get to me
The only reaction channel I like is keys of geebz because he really deconstructs the music being a composer
| |
Speaking of low effort: these vocals. Shame these guys will never "Boneyards" again.
| |
THERES BLAWWWDDDDDD
IN THAAA WAAATTTERRRRRRRRRRRR
| |
Cynics who shit on music reactors are so oblivious of their own narrow mind. Sure many reaction channels can leave something to be desired, but at the end of the day, the good reactors share overlooked music and joy. You? You share your criticism and distaste for those who champion a criminally overlooked genre.
| |
metalcore is overlooked? or did you mean overcooked sir?
| |
Yeah going to miss hearing some of the horizons cuts. Then again i doubt ill bother going to see them again even if they put on a solid show.
| |

@nonapplicable I donât understand a blind word of what youâre saying

a criminally overlooked genre

Don't worry guys, Finn McKenty says the boys are back. He also said Neck Deep was back with their newest song and that it's their best ever and he's also like 50 years old so he knows good music.
| |
"The only reaction channel I like is keys of geebz because he really deconstructs the music being a composer"
I was going to mention him. Also Lost in Vegas, they wont pretend to like shit.
| |
rofl everyone getting all serious. i enjoy some reactor channels, but not the annoying facethumnails specifically.
O 0 O omg this is WILD YALL
its just.... cringe i guess
| |
its like girls on instagram doing the ahegao (i don't even know what that means, but ive seen it enough times to recognize it lmao) face or stance or whatever.
just.... masturbation of the face for internet clicks. its selling your face for implied emotional reactions on your part... youre an internet whore, basically
| |
Finn mckenty isnât the worst but he seems like he runs everything he says past a diverse panel of individuals representing every known demographic on earth and needs clearance from each of them before including it in his video script so not to risk possibly offending a single viewer, so his opinions are pretty toothless and boring.
I got sick of âhey this is just my opinion and what do I knowâ attitude because it sort of belies an underlying arrogance where he does actually seem to think he knows it all but doesnât want to be criticised for saying ignorant stuff
| |
I used to like Finn a lot but I think he just does nothing but troll now and his band history videos are just him shittily reciting Wikipedia articles. He acts like he's an expert on every band he talks about but then gets album titles wrong and you can just tell he doesn't care that much about what he's talking about.
Him constantly saying Deftones is nu metal and pretending they never did anything after White Pony shows he just likes getting reactions. And anything that isn't overly cheery pop punk to him is "edgy". Between all of that and him repeating the same jokes over and over again that used to be funny (DAE Dickies shorts?!?!?!?) I guess I'm just tired of his schtick. You can only hear him talk about Ronnie Radke and Kid Rock being some kind of musical geniuses so many times before you tune him out.
I obviously don't expect anyone to have the exact same music tastes and opinions as me but it seems like he goes out of his way to be wrong about shit.
| |
Holy shit this is so bad lol
| |
So boring , how the mighty have fallen
| |
Had a slight glimmer of hope they might return to some type of metal but now disappointed. Jammed Killing with a smile and Horizons yesterday. Unbelievable to think it's the same band. I suppose if it gets kids listening to the radio into some kind of heavier music. I noticed Lorna Shore is supporting on one of their upcoming tours. Would have thought they'd avoid that kind of thing as not to get shown up.
| |
sad
| |
Damn, what a let down, they used to be such a cool band
| |
Beyond boring its just straight up dumpster fluid
| |
Song sounds like Papa Roach lol
| |
I don't think Finn McKenty's opinions are boring -- he tries to give an objective breakdown of trends, there often isn't that much opinion in there. I think the channel is pretty useful education-wise even if it's not perfect. His music taste does seem pretty awful though -- A Day To Remember in his top 5 bands of all time? Lord
Reaction videos are mostly stupid btw
| |
The last album I kind of liked was IRE and that album paled in comparison to their earlier stuff. This song is total butt-rock trash. Like what the actual fuck!? Did they intend to alienate all the fans that loved them when they were metalcore? I would certainly not go to a show cuz I'm pretty sure they wouldn't play much of anything I would want to hear. They are really cool dudes but I can't even with this arena rock bullshit. I will always love their first few records though.
| |
yuck.
| |
So these guys are rapidly losing fans. They cancelled or post poned touring the states (for mental health reasons apparently) but then added more dates in Europe and have now signed up a cruise ship show or something? I dont even know when they last toured here in Aus i think they cancelled their last tour here. Ontop of releasing a shit single they seem to be fucking around a lot with tours and leaving people caught in the aftermath of it
| |
+1 for keys of geebz
| |
Song is dog shit no redeemable qualities fuck this fuck anyone that likes this fuck the government fuck free will fuck condoms fuck you fuck me fuck
| |
Seven hells Alex Hefner actually title his video "I Was not impressed with the new parkway drive song' (which is probably a safer stance than claiming to enjoy it at this point)
| |
who would've thought Parkway drive would become a cruise ship band.
| |
Finn McKenty sucks ass
| |
Also this song is fucking abysmal but I don't think I needed to tell anyone
| |
What happened to these guys? This is awful. [â]
Where their lyrics always this dreadful or did they just dive down the deep end in every way possible?
| |
With song titles like Swallowing Razorblades you just know the lyrics gonna be good
| |
That must be a cover of a H.I.M song
| |
I went in on Nik Nocturnal basically just saying it's ok to not like a song. I asked if he could just call a song terrible and someone deleted my comment in the thread!? It was about this song which even he acknowledged if he should give his honest opinion? Bruh.. what is the point of reacting to music if you don't criticize anything!? Nope he's too busy choking down all the bands to give an answer to ANYONE.
| |
nik nocturnal is a joke and it baffles me as to why anyone watched his shit
hes the yes man for metal/core
| |
I think we need to start a channel that does the opposite of what he does and just shit (justifiably, of course) on all new metalcore songs
I vote we call it Dik Docturnal
| |
We'll need an anti-Finn channel too. One that doesn't have a favorite Crazy Town song (that isn't even Butterfly).
| |
Crazy Town does have some great tracks on their Dark Horse album. Butterfly wouldn't be my favourite song either
| |
^^^
| |
Iâm more of a lazy town guy myself
| |
