Lyrics are kinda cringe. Song feels like it’s on autopilot. Definitely the worst of the singles.
| | | This album is shaping up to be just more of The Valley which is all i asked for.
| | | "Forget my voice, forget my eyes. My heart is content now." Ehh.
| | | who cares about the lyrics it's whitechapel hahaha
| | | first nine letters of the bandname nails it
| | | The Valley had some pretty great lyrics though, and they never detracted from the song. Here they make me wince.
| | | First they're dropping lost boys and now they're dropping orphans what the hell is going on
| | | Least deathcore track I've heard all year from a deathcore act lol. Song is cool
| | | Awful awful track. Sounds like FFDP butt rock.
| | | Decent song nothing amazing. Still really impressed with Phil's singing on this one though. That being said Lost Boy was definitely the best of the 3 released thus far. If they could somehow pull a whole album in that sort of style I wouldn't mind. Album is shaping up to have an array of sounds and styles. Interested to hear it when it drops
| | | hell yeah i love five finger death punch!! !
| | | at first i loved this and listened about 10 times. i definitely thought the lyrics were a little cringey, but, i do know what the vocalist's backstory is so i kind of give him a pass to write this stuff. buuuuuuuuuut some screams woulda been nice man.
it also might work better in the content of their album. it seems to be a concept one - track names and stuff are all related. he mentioned a story about psychological selves and shit i think, idk, maybe this song's lyrics and perspective are important to the whole piece
also their guitar tones are so fkn freakin tasty bro. solo was coo
| | | Not sure why this is getting compared to FFDP so much. This is pretty solid. I dig it
| | | I like this song quite a bit. And I thought it was a real stretch to make the comparison, but on my first listen I too thought..."wow FFDP has never sounded so good!
| | | Very Flaw/Nothingface-esque, which is pretty much what happens whenever a deathcore band makes a ballad
| | | I've always loved Phil's vocals, I've been a huge fan of the band since The Somatic Defilement. It's super cool to see him trying new things, and I think he's got a very pleasant clean voice. The ability to switch from smooth cleans to nasty gutterals puts him in the upper echelon of vocalists IMO, with the likes of Christian Älvestam and Mikael Åkerfeldt.
| | | This doesn't sound anything like FFDP, way closer to Flaw/Nothingface or even something by Seether.
