It's fine and that's okay!
|
| |
Cool song, has Eddy always been able to utilise the force like that?
|
| |
Cool song, nothing groundbreaking but just Maiden doing what they do best!
You're always guaranteed a great guitar solo, too m/
|
| |
I'm just grateful they are all alive and kicking at this point.
Can't wait to hear the rest.
|
| |
Song is definitely a grower too, liking it even more with every listen.

it's fine, which is pretty much their ceiling nowadays.

Glad to have the band still kicking, but the song itself is a snoozer for me unfortunately. Also why are the guitars so panned to the sides to the point of being virtually useless?
|
| |
Spotify and Apple Music versions sound fine.
YouTube has a tendency to make the mix sound terrible.
|
| |
Iron dick in son
|
| |
"who's ready for their iron dickin'"
|
| |
"Also why are the guitars so panned to the sides to the point of being virtually useless?"
Had to check again because first listen was on the phone speaker. Yeah they're panned quite wide, but I wouldn't say that's why they may feel underwhelming, I'd say that's some masking in need of EQ. So many amazing guitar driven albums double take their guitars and pan hard left hard right to awesome effect

article is a bit douchey. yeah, how dare old people make music.
|
| |
Don’t be a soft cunt
|
| |
honestly ya how dare old people make music fuck old people
|
| |
"Also why are the guitars so panned to the sides to the point of being virtually useless?"
That's pretty much the standard for mixing rhythm guitars, but the audio in the video does sound weird. I think there might be a phase issue or something.
|
| |
Firstly if anything it’s said as a term of endearment.
Secondly phase issues
|
| |
Spotify sounds better but listen to the chorus, the guitar on the left is clearly the musical protagonist of it and yet it's so distant and faint. Then the chorus ends and suddenly a guitar pops up on the right and it sounds fine. Weird ass mix! On the plus side listening so closely made me appreciate the song more.
|
| |
cool vid
|
| |
Yeah man, who knew Eddie was a Jedi!
|
| |
Riffs are catchy, solo is nice, chorus is boring, mixing is typical Shirley
Overall not great not terrible. It gets better with a couple of listens but nothing exciting. I don't like most of their post reunion singles though and this is a bit more interesting so im still pretty hyped
|
| |
Just glad to hear Bruce can sing again after, y'know, head/neck cancer.

"Just glad to hear Bruce can sing again after, y'know, head/neck cancer."
When was he not able to sing?Maiden was touring before the pandemic and he was still kicking ass on stage.
|
| |
Considering there legacy, which is forever timeless and they’re in there mid to late 60’s I’m just pleased that they are still rocking and having fun.
|
| |
"When was he not able to sing?Maiden was touring before the pandemic and he was still kicking ass on stage."
You're right, he's been recovered a while. I forget how time works. Still glad he's well and sounds good.
|
| |
Yeah, both his body and voice are in phenomenal shape, all things considered. Dude's a true professional.
|
| |
Yeah, Bruce sounds great! Promising after the letdown the last live album was vocalwise.
The song is nice, laid back, pleasant, great solo. Decent stuff!
|
| |
Bruce sounds awful here wtf
it's nice to hear he can actually sing still, but i don't like the sound.
|
| |
Kevin Shirley strikes again fucking up what could be a decent song. The music is okay, but the production sounds like ASS. I hate that this legendary band is going to spend the rest of their days with a producer who intentionally makes their studio recordings sound like dogshit.
|
| |
It’s okay, but I like it more than the lead singles from the previous two albums.
We’re never going to get another Wicker Man and they’re notorious for picking the worst songs as singles recently.
|
| |
wow that production really is godawful lmao. not even a "personal taste" thing, legit sounds like they have no idea how to produce a record.
|
| |
Not really a fan of this but glad to see them still kicking at least
|
| |
"wow that production really is godawful lmao. not even a "personal taste" thing, legit sounds like they have no idea how to produce a record."
[2]
Kevin Shirley fucking SUCKS at his job.
|
| |
They tend to release their weaker tracks as lead singles. And since this song is already decent that can only be a good thing.
|
| |
I thought Speed of Light was a personal highlight from BoS but whatevs
|
| |
pretty good riff
|
| |
Speed of Light was definitely a highlight on Book of Souls. Hope the new record will contain more up-tempo 3-5 minute tracks like that. With that being said, the longer tracks on BoS were actually really solid in comparison to the 8-9 minute chug-fests found on AMoLaD and Final Frontier.
|
| |
Nah Speed of Light sucked, it sounded like a bad Deep Purple song.
If Eternity should fail was the highlight of that bloated record.
|
| |
this was really weird.
|
| |
Well...that was fucking great. The production sounds like Powerslave.
|
| |
Loved all of the nuggets in the video such as the various Eddie's on the motorcycles, the remains of the crashed zeppelin (Empire Of The Clouds), the back cover of TNOTB as the video starts, among many others....
|
| |
Song is a grower. Love it.
|
| |
Empty Trooper beer cans on the desert floor, a crashed Ed Force One
|
| |
That video was fucking awesome. I am so here for whatever the fuck is going on in Bruce Dickinson’s mind.
|
| |
not feeling this
|
| |
I find this to be a grower....I like it a lot more than most of their other singles since the Dance Of Death record
|
| |
Iron Maiden can do no wrong honestly. Always welcome

Old people are STUPID!
|

man if I can be picky, an 8 song album would've been perfect, with an average runtime of 7 minutes per song, one of which was 10 minutes long or so
Harris is the sole writer of the 4 longest songs, so I definitely expect a lot of repetitiveness and bloat
an example is The Red And The Black....great, great song, but he could've shaved 3 minutes off of it or so

As long as it sounds like seventh son...I'm fine. They can do it over and over again.
|

Song is ok. Still gonna buy the album when it drops
|

iron boomers strike again, awesome song

if this were instrumental it'd be a lot easier to get through
