Italian composer Ennio Morricone, well-known for his many movie soundtracks, passes away at age 91. Cause of death has been confirmed to be related to hip fractures for which he was admitted to a hospital in Rome last week.

His music has been widely used in film and television, with over 500 individual works crediting him.

Rest in peace Maestro Morricone. Have loved your many glorious soundtracks since I was a child. Glad to have seen him conduct a few years back.

Lived a full life, created some of the most iconic, amazing music in film history, and I even had the chance to see him conduct live just last year.

I just finished watching The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Absolutely perfection. That soundtrack has been significant in my life since before I was ten.
