BLACK LABEL SOCIETY is set to release their first album on Roadrunner Records. Zakk Wylde’s brainchild released their last studio album of new music was 2005’s Mafia. Shot to Hell will be the title of the new album and will hit shelves on July 3; here is the announcement from Ozzfest.com.
“Roadrunner Records has set a July 3 release date for the new Black Label Society album Shot to Hell. The album is the follow-up to Mafia, which debuted in March 2005 at #15 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and at #1 on the Top Independent Albums chart. The top rock track "In This River" from Mafia will be on the upcoming MTV2 Headbangers Ball: The Revenge album, due out April 11. BLS, will be headlining Ozzfest's Second Stage all summer. Zakk is currently finishing up the newest from BLS and also writing and recording with OZZY for his new album."

Maybe if Zakk didn't release so many albums with such great frequency, then they wouldn't be so repetitive and samey?
Don't get me wrong, I like his music, but I'm not holding out much hope of this being a great album.

I hate when people say that. Plenty of bands are/were able of releasing many albums with consistent quality. Infact all of the best artists of all time have done it. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Bob Dylan. But these days we've become acustomed to bands being lazy and waiting 8 years in between albums.

no, not really, the majority of bands do it, take 2 or 3 years to release a new album, i would much prefer them annually, even not as good, because it keeps me interested, inestead of a 3 year wait for a new chilis album

No, I enjoy a lot of other bands too. Ozzy, VH, Zeppelin, Metallica, and Nirvana are some of my favorites.

Zakk is a dedicated musician. He doesn't take time off, he loves what he does from what I've read about him. So much that his cycle of life is so: Release album - tour - while touring write new material - continue tour - take material to studio - shred. All that in about a year.

Well...even if he is a dedicated musician..I thought for sure that he had a family. (I could've been convinced in an interview that he said he was pissed P Diddy used part of a Led Zepplin song and Zakk's kid thought it was originally P Diddy's) If Zakk is doing constant music work, it seems like his family is left in the dust. although, on the other hand that doesn't seem to be the case. He's pretty much on top of things.

It could also be that he had a lot of material all at once and decided to split it into two albums (Like shot to hell could be mafia left over ideas)

I'm sure there will be at least 3 great BLS songs on here. That seems to be the case for most of their work.
