Wonder if Avenged Sevenfold is going back to screaming. Yuck. They're best when Shadows sings.

That was the one song I liked off of The Crusade.

They were originally talking about putting 14-16 tracks on this. It's probably for the better that they settled on 10.

I can't help but notice when a band includes progressively LESS tracks on its albums. When you have 1 less track on every album for 4 albums, I don't think it's a coincidence. (Although since the song lengths got longer, the albums somehow did too.) Unless the average song length on here is more than 7 minutes, or if there are some short songs and some horrendous attempts at epic power balladry (which seems all too likely at this point), I don't see how this can be more than a comparatively taut 50-60 minutes or so.

I miss the Sounding The Seventh Trumpet days. They're not even that different from Waking The Fallen.

I am definitely not getting my hopes up about this. Weak track names too. Ah, shouldnt be too bad. A throwback would be nice.

This isnt surprising if you consider that they've progressively changed their sound with every album

Think about Metallica. Their sound changed and they GAINED tracks. Papa Roach, Slipknot, Linkin Park, etc; bands that have changed their sound, usually keep about the same number of tracks. And current prog-rock Iron Maiden has more tracks and is longer than their old metal days. A7x has no excuse. I hate the band but I like their music, if that makes sense.

The titles of the song are different to me than their last albums... more hard rock-ish.

well whats it like?

It starts with shredding and repeats it after the chorus. The song is kind of thrashy, and they sing some parts cleanly. It sounded really promising.
