It might be a grower, but I liked the softer parts. It was kind of different for them.

I liked the second half of the song much more than the first half.

The slow part with growling was pretty neat around :50. The Nintendo music finally started around 3:43, and that's all I need from HtB. =P

A Natural Death, IMO, is by far the most ambitious, mature, complex CD HORSE the band has done yet. Not sure whether it's as good as The Mechanical Hand yet but their songwriting really came into its own on this record. "NYC" is one of my favorite off of it.

They've matured. If you're expecting another song like cutsman or birdo, you're not going to find it on the new record.

i like their new album, i hope they dont change too much of its sound when its released. all their albums ive liked and Cutsman has got to be one of my fav songs

Not if you like it when bands, you know, make an attempt to sound different instead of putting out the same album their entire careers. And they're still funny and ridiculous and don't take themselves seriously. There's PLENTY of classic HTB moments on A Natural Death. If they put out The Mechanical Hand 2 I'd be irritated that they hadn't strived for something new, which they clearly have done with the new record. They've grown hugely as musicians as well, and their new drummer simply eats Eli alive, hands-down. He adds a lot to their sound.

This is (in my opinion) the best HORSE cd so far. Sex Raptor is a masterpiece. And Nathans mustache is amazing...
