They dont even try XD

We need the contributors and staff members to give this album an 0.5 when it comes out since the rest of us can't do it...
| |
I'm planning on reviewing it as soon as it releases, but I'm not a staff member so I can only go as low as 1.0 :[.
This is the biggest decline in quality LP has ever gone through, not counting Recharged which was a remix album.
| |
How could they seriously put this shit out and not know that it fucking sucks? This is pure fucking elevator/supermarket music.

This is what LP sounds like now!!?? Wow I haven't listened to them in many many years but this is seriously shocking ha.
| |
This is SO bad.
| |
giving them the '/rock' tag is being generous
| |
"get the fuck over it"
-chester (he really said this)
| |
Video thumbnail tells me everything I need to know
| |
Awh man. This is too disappointing to even make fun of anymore. It's just sad.
| |
AND I SPI AND I'M JUST TRY
| |
So...we're going for a 90s adult alternative mixed with top 40 pop and generic worship music sound then? Is it too early to say WAOTY for this. This is pathetic.
| |
I think this is one of the best tracks they released as a single thus far, but that's not saying much...
| |
Can't say good goodbye is better than this, I really dispise the lyrics on that song, and especially the 'pop-rap' by mike ruined that song... chorus wasn't that bad. I just hate how this is below-average radio-pop. They didn't even remotely try to make this record sound a little bit LP
| |
Well... Mike's voice suits this sound much better than Chester
| |
hahahahaha...wow what steaming pile of shit
| |
shadow of the day didnt need a chainsmokers remix
| |
linkin park x chainsmokers, otherwise known as cancer
| |
legit sounds like christian radio shit [2]
and i mean that in the worst way possible
| |
So guys. What's a worse song with the word invisible in it?
This one? or INVISIBLE KID by Metallica?
Cast your votes now.
| |
"Invisible kid almost made me quit metal"
So close...
Yet so far.
| |
Actually I enjoy invisible kid, a mix between mix and thrash. One of the few songs in the album I listen regularly
| |
Vaxxi did you just made a reference to U2? cool!
| |
Shoot me again
I aint dead yet
Shoot me again
Shoot me again
Shoot me again
Shoot me
Shoot me again.

"This is what LP sounds like now!!??"
They've sounded different on every album after Minutes to Midnight. Many people are disappointed because The Hunting Party was a great album and a return to form but this is a 180 in terms of genre.
| |
180 degrees of pure shit
| |
My mama always said "life is like a box of shit. You always going to get shit"
| |
I'm not talking about the haunting party, I'm talking about the new LP album.
| |
180 degrees of pure shit is what the new album is going to be. There you go
| |
I think I have an answer why this album will suck so much: touring with 30 seconds to mars is a disease.
| |
I'm almost excited about how appallingly bad this album promises to be.
This album could reveal new lows we have yet to know even exist.
| |

How low? I thought Lou Reed's metal machine music was the sewer of music.
| |
That's a pretty hardcore conclusion buddy.
| |
Wow... That outro is on another level of cringeworthy. So ridiculously choppy. Imagine Chester playing this live and being proud of himself for repeating one word for the entire song
| |
At least Metal Machine Music and Lulu had ambition.
| |
choppy or poppy?
| |
Not even gonna watch...That Generic ass thumbnail says way too much.
| |
What happened with fort minor dude?
| |
Shockingly bad
| |
How are these getting even worse? How bad can they get?
| |
The new album sounds like some shitty pop DJ had chester feature on some of the tracks.
| |
This is one of those times where the term "sellout" is very apt. The Hunting Party didn't sell so well, so they've gone to a mainstream pop sound to sell records. That's all this is. If they were doing this for the art or the integrity, they could have easily made this a pop side-project. But they're doing it under the Linkin Park name because they know it's $$$ in the bag. Fuck these guys.
| |
@JayEnder Mike is actually singing this song, not Chester
| |
Unpopular opinion incoming, but Hunting Party wasn't that great. Most of the songs weren't anything special. They were poorly written and had lousy production. Final Masquerade is repetitive and uninspired. People just liked it because it was more on the "harsh" side of things again. This album actually seems like a continuation of where they were going with A Thousand Suns and Living Things. It's kind of disappointing to hear Linkin Park take this turn, but I don't mind this. It's simple, easy to listen to, and i'd much rather hear this blasted all over the radio than some of the other crap I hear on it. I went out to eat a couple of weeks ago and heard Heavy on the radio and it was nice.
| |
Linkin Park's One More Light: NOT GOOD
| |
This is incredibly generic.
I can't sense any effort behind the songs they've released so far. Not an ounce of creativity.
Living Things was a much better attempt at capturing a more mainstream audience. Maybe they should go back to those electronic influences. Cause this pop stuff... has no flavor whatsoever.
| |
must be nice to release literally any old piece of turd and make ridiculous money off it
| |
What the fuck
| |
This isn't as bad as the other stuff, Mike's voice works pretty well on it actually.
But at this point we've heard almost half the songs on the album, chances say that it's gonna suck ass
| |
Wow. This is a less rewarding experience than eating Juicy Fruit gum.
| |
oh well time for you guys to start listening to good bands i guess
| |
nah I just came here to say this sucks
| |
ew..
| |
This album is gonna be garbage. I can't wait to 1 this
| |
Look, I thought Living Things was pretty good. But this is just like, a shit version of that.
| |
They might as well call the album "Pop Songs 2017," it's mind-blowing how generic their latest singles sound. If you played either this or "Heavy" without saying whose songs they were and gave me a hundred guesses, I don't think I'd name Linkin Park. This from a guy who never really liked them to begin with.

My friend heard Heavy on the radio and I said it was Linkin Park. He was like "wait, what?" The song said "why is everything so heavy?" and my friend said "well...this song isn't, so..."
| |
Such trash....Blinkin park is going to be an awful concert
| |
Wow, that was very... uh... special
| |
This whole album screams cash grab to me. Heavy really isn't that bad but this pop shit is just awful. There's not a lot to it. The Hunting Party made me hopeful that they still had good material in them
| |
Is shocking that the same band that wrote a line in the sand, mark the graves, the catalyst, qwerty, a place for my head, breakin the habit, the little things give you away, war and the catalyst is doing tracks like this and heavy. This album is a 1,5, and that's just because of talking to myself and the self titled, the rest is just one of the worst cash grabs in this decade, it reminds me a lot of the yes pop albums and the chris cornell album in which he worked with timbaland or the beach boys shit on the late 80s and early 90s. This single is even worse than battle symphony. Hopefully chester and mike will pull their heads out of their asses and realize that this album is a risk not worth taking, they are feeling the pressure of almost everybody and hopefully they will made an album similar to the hunting party or with a rock oriented sound, but if they continue making shit like heavy in future endeavors they should just fucking break up
| |
word.
| |
I don't mind that LP is experimenting, what I mind is that it blows. It is literally just pop garbage on repeat. On the bright side, they lyrics aren't that bad. Also, I'm ready to 1 hard.

Agree
I am a big LP fan and I am used to their experiments, even MTM and ATS had a bunch of songs that are worth digging. On the other hand this is just an atrocious mashup between chainsmokers, 21 pilots, imagine dragons and avicii
| |
Agree with most of you. I'm one of those guys that still has a soft spot for Hybrid Theory and Meteora, despite their flaws, because I listened to them growing up. And even though I didn't care for the majority of the experimenting they did after, I could at least appreciate that they were trying to evolve beyond the dying nu metal genre and branch into new creative territories. However, this might be the first instance where I see a total lack of effort to advance their sound. As much as I hated A Thousand Suns, it at least attempted to sound new and fresh. This just seems so inexplicable for a band that at least claims (repeatedly) that they aren't into artistic stagnation.
| |
Like, A Thousand Suns is my favorite LP album and I definitely prefer it when they experiment... but this is ass.
| |
I actually dig this song, I hated Heavy and Good Goodbye but Battle Symphony and Invisible feel like Linkin Park to me. This song actually just feels like Minutes To Midnight (I hear some Leave out all the Rest vibes)
| |
I'm ready to bump up my rating for The Hunting Party up to 4/5. Because what LP are doing now is ridiculous.
| |
Sounds like they want to fill the hole that one direction left.
| |
Not even listened to this but I already know it's gonna suck
| |

But at least with Heavy you knew what you were hearing were live drums. Ending of yhe song is even fairly reminiscent of the likes of Waiting for the End
| |
lol @ sputnikers itt not realizing that this band was always dogshit
| |
