for anyone wanting a breakdown - the purely instrumental tracks (1, 3 and 5) are all jams. 3 especially sounds like if the Avalanches remixed Coop's dream from Episode 3, it's friggin dope. the other two are significantly weaker, and I'm guessing that the actual rapping will not be a strong point in this project

16 compilations?
that's just overkill
|
| |
Nah 200 songs is just right, will get you through an evening.
|
| |
that's time i could use to actually (finally) check out the series
heard the soundtrack to the show and FWWM and the Xiu Xiu album, but just never had the time to get to the show
|
| |
dude fripp this is actually essential TV, even the shit episodes
also do you guys not burn through 200 songs a day? weak stuff tbh
|
| |
i feel like the show has been so hyped by the fans on sput like you rowan, that there's no chance it'll live up to expectations haha.
|
| |
It probably won't. It's a great show but it's nothing as instantly mindblowing as people say. There's a lot to it and it'll be more of a slowburning wooooaaahh that was pretty good
|
| |
it's pretty much the first example of actually really good TV (this was like five years before the Sopranos) so we hype it up a bit, but also once you get sucked in there's literally no experience that's like it, nothing's even close
|
| |
"also do you guys not burn through 200 songs a day? weak stuff tbh"
even at work, i get through like a solid hundred just because i generally stick to playing full albums
|
| |
also getting through mgs is taking up some time
|
| |
So psyched that The Veils made it onto the soundtrack
|
| |
21/5/17 can't come soon enough.
|
| |
yess
|
| |
Fripp, you have to check out the original series, at least into the 2nd season when the initial mystery is solved. Unfortunately, the show started to drift after that, but up until that point, it was a totally original series.
|
| |
The finale was amazing though
|
| |

Im watching the x files and its the first time im getting vibes similar to twin peaks i just started it tho
|
| |
I don't know, Tom, I hated the finale. I'm actually hoping the new series does something to clean it up.
|
| |
Season 5 = best X Files season
|
| |
Diva dude, I got both seasons and FWIW on a hard drive ready to go
|
| |
Lmao @Fripp hyping up the soundtrack and the xiu xiu album without ever even seeing the show

Guilty as charged, tots
|
| |
"It's a great show but it's nothing as instantly mindblowing as people say."
I agree. I have a soft spot for Twin Peaks because it was filmed about 45 minutes from my house, but its reputation has gotten blown out of proportion over the years imo.
|
| |
It's not instantly mind blowing, it's gradually mind blowing
Also it's reputation has not gotten blown out of proportion, it literally defined every generation of crime drama to follow.
|
| |
Without twin peaks none of that shit would exist.
|
| |
Excellent, Fripp. Just remember -- the owls are not what they seem.
|
| |
Without twin peaks none of that shit would exist [2] and not only crime drama either, it pretty much helped define surrealism, black comedy and horror in TV from the day it was released until now really
|
| |
oh hell yes!
|
| |
Rowan knows
|
| |
The adults were so mad when it ended, so I didn't see it for years. But it is a pretty fantastic show.
The Cooper-Truman bromance is so fucking adorable.
I do of course expect them to fuck it all up in S3.
|
| |
You will of course be wrong about that
|
| |
This is all about keeping expectations down.
