The hype train continues.

HOT DIGGITY DAMN.
| |
Sowing man giving us all the good news today
| |
Shit wow
Still only heard funeral i need to correct that soon
| |
Don't blow this Arcade Fire, I've put all my chips on your square.
"because we’ve recorded more than we need" | and please don't make it an hour and a half long.
| |
same here bubs, absolutely loved the highlights from it tho
| |
Still only heard funeral i need to correct that soon [2]
In the Backseat is one of my favorite songs tho
| |
Actually, I still haven't heard Reflektor, tbh.
| |
It took me forever to realize Reflektor's cover wasn't an astronaut
| |
lol
| |
That made me chuckle as well lol
| |
It took me forever to realize Reflektor's cover wasn't an astronaut[L]
| |
It's a combination of the small picture and my bad eyes
| |
What the hell man, this might be a great indie year !!
| |
I am praying that this is good. Reflektor was a bit of a let down but Funeral, Neon Bible, and The Suburbs still stands as one of the best runs in indie.
2017 is already shaping up to be just as amazing as 2016 was.
| |
For me Reflektor is their second best album. I dug that 80s vibe they channeled so hard. Funeral is #1 obv.
And yeah 2017 has some real fuckin hype albums in-queue
| |
Gorillaz and Massive Attack news would make this day even better
| |
"I dug that 80s vibe they channeled so hard."
That sounds tight
| |
"Gorillaz and Massive Attack"
No joke, if those two artists announced records on the same exact day, I'd fucking die
| |
Me too tbh
| |
HYPE
| |
Sowing, to my ears Reflektor had a ~45 minute album near the level of the first three in it but it got buried across the two discs. I loved it when it was released (it was one of the first I anticipated the release of an album by an artist I considered one of my favorites) but it has grown off in the years since.
| |
I don't listen to anything consistently anymore because I'm always looking for the next thing. In a way it sucks, but at the same time that doesn't diminish the works in any way. Every time I revisit Reflektor or any other album I scored a 4.5+ it typically feels just a special to me as the first time, so at least there's that I guess.
| |
Neon Bible = Best Arcade Fire
| |
Good to hear
| |
No it really isnt doesnt come close to Funeral
| |
More dancey stuff please
| |
ooooooh
| |
still need to hear Reflektor but this is very rad news
| |
From the descriptions you guys are giving of Reflektor, it sounds like I'm really gonna enjoy it
| |
Check the embedded track FullOfSounds should give you an idea
Or if you've already heard it and liked it then it's certainly worth giving the entire album a listen
| |
It's very different from stuff on Funeral but fun regardless
| |
The Reflektor t/t is amazing.
Drop Flashbulb Eyes, Normal Person, You Already Know, Porno, and Supersymmetry and it would've been a truly amazing album.
| |
Normal Person is awesome. The guitar buildup at the end bro. And that chorus.
| |
reflektor was just disappointing hope this is better
| |
Fuuuck it gonna go on an Arcade Fire marathon today
| |
basically ratings for their studio albums go 5>4.5>4>3.5 so i'm hoping this won't be a 3
| |
"Normal Person is awesome. The guitar buildup at the end bro. And that chorus."
Normal Person is the worst AF song imo
| |
For me the albums go 5, 4.5, 4.5, 3.5 (though Suburbs is better than Bible) so this could really fall anywhere. This doesn't really count but Will Butler's 2015 album was lame, doesn't give me high hopes even though Win is the songwriter in AF.
| |
I really liked Will's solo album
| |
There were like 2 good songs on it and the rest were painfully average.
| |
Never listened to them, need to get on that. Are they all good??
| |
Funeral is one of the greatest albums of all time.
| |
It's a shame Bowie won't be on their new album, also this needs to be better than their last, and I believe it will be
| |
Funny, I just decided to spin their discography yesterday. Looking forward to the new album.
| |
Hoping for a return to form. In related news, are they ever gonna put out a legitimate release of their score for Her? Definitely had far more staying power than Reflektor.
| |
This will be mediocre like all their stuff
| |
Funeral's three good songs are really good ya
Reflektor is unmitigated trash I'm sad you don't see it
| |
Listened to neon bible for the first time just now
Holy fuck
| |
Sweet, never got around to listening to Reflektor. Funeral and The Suburbs, to a lesser extent, are top tier though.
| |
Neon Bible is top tier too.
| |
Yeah can't go wrong with the first three. There's a fantastic 45-60 minute album somewhere in the 3 discs of Reflektor (deluxe edition), so I have pretty high hopes for this.
Also I'm pretty sure the Her soundtrack they did, which is amazing, was released officially. Maybe it's just not readily available on Spotify and everywhere else like the rest of their albums, but it was released somehow I know.
| |
Pretty sure it still has yet to be released Talons.
| |
I've always had a pretty official copy in my music collection, but can't remember where I got it from.
| |
I think I read somewhere they sent out Oscar-promo discs, which is awesome and well-deserved, but I'm also pretty sure they haven't had any sort of commercial release, which almost makes it more aggravating.
