I really dug Weightless, sorry.
It was a bit cold and clinical in places but I thought the glitchy electronics were just unbeatable, and the production does way more for me than on TJOM.

I did not like Weightless at all. Will be interested to see what happens here.

Pretty sure Misha was much more heavily involved on 1 & 3 than 2, and it certainly showed.

Never really got into their albums but I like watching Tosins guitar vids on youtube.

Never got into these guys. Vocals really make the songs for me usually. Hard to listen to an entire album of jamming without something spoken/growled over it.

Plus a lot of deaths. Looking forward to this album. Not sure why the title/art is getting flak, it describes the atmospheric/soundscape quality of music these guys bring.

Same for me. And what's even more remarkable is that it's purely instrumental. There's quite something about Tosin and co. that no other instrumental band has.

I can enjoy instrumental tracks all the same, but for a full album it's hard to keep my interest. Especially for a band where that's their entire discog. I dunno, maybe should give it a shot...

Give 'er hell, dude. No shame in trying. I used to put their first album on shuffle while I was working or cleaning around the house because I wasn't into hearing a whole instrumental album and eventually I liked all the songs enough that hearing them in sequence was a fucking treat.

That's actually some really sound advice. I'll give that shit a whirl. Any album rec's?

Joy of Motion was enjoyable and all, but Weightless had far more memorable moments to me. Odessa, Somnarium, Earth Departure, New Eden and Weightless are all killer tracks.

this so hard. like I said before it didn't sound like joy of motion took many if any risks. besides physical education and the woven web nothing stands out so much.
