It's all right. It falls short of each track from TFP IMO.
I find the section starting at 1:20 pretty wonky, and the female vocals seem... misplaced.

| |
I'm digging this hardcore. I like the female vocals but I wish that they were higher in the mix.

I'm digging this hardcore. [2]
God damn these dudes don't disappoint. I like how the clean vocals are mixed; I feel like if they were any louder they would maybe be too much. Immeasurably psyched to hear the rest of this.
| |
This is absolutely incredible.
| |
Ouch
| |
the girl vox are cool i guess, and the production is a little better. i wish they went back more to their harvest wombs sound
| |
meh
| |
Whoa this rips
| |
The producion is bad
but except for this this is pretty decent, hopefully better than TFP (c'mon guys Nomadic is what we want)

| |
I dig it
| |
Great artwork
| |
great track, marginally improved production, fem vox fit perfectly
| |
Their music is so all-over-the-place that great production doesn't really help... Great song though, love how the bassplayer is more prominent in the mix this time
| |
kill's sarcasm wasn't obvious enough
| |
track summary in text form : DIIDDIIIDLEE DOOOOO DIDLE DOOOOOO; BBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPACK BRRRRRRRRRRRPACK; RAAAAAAHRAHRAHHHH RAHHH
| |
sounds the same as their previous
| |
Sounds like Fallujah but a little bit better, I'm into it
| |
Enjoying it, the production is improved (if not perfect)
| |
Solid track.
| |
Idk, it's still a bit too messy for me. But I'm not gonna complain any more, it sounds a lot better than last record and the music is still as good (or just a lil bit worse) as TFP
| |
Whether the album is good or not, that cover is still fucking gorgeous.
| |
Kicks ass as usual. I don't really like the female vocals, but they don't detract from anything else.
| |
If the production is an improvement over the last record (which wasn't THAT bad in all fairness) then this should kick some major ass.
| |
Yes, production is way better than it was on Flesh.
| |
vocals seem kinda "core" idk if I like em. decent track though
| |
love the track and I'm glad the production is really good.
| |
cmon TFP had awful production
| |
So excellent, never disappointed by these guys, way hyped for the album
| |
"cmon TFP had awful production"
where in my comment did I even mention TFP if that's directed towards me
| |
just listening from laptop built-in speakers so I'm not getting a great feel for the song, but is the rhythm guitar supposed to be that low compared to everything else, or is that just my computer? The beginning has the lead really high in the mix and the rhythm guitar barely audible, and then the vocals are also overpoweringly high in the mix.
| |
Really good as expected
| |
Zaruyache - It's slightly better with headphones than what you're describing. You can definitely hear the rhythm guitar, but it's pretty low in the mix.
| |
love these guys but what I would give for them to bump the volume of the vocals up ever so slightly in production imo...
| |
yea sometimes i cant tell if there are vocals or if it's just distortion lol
| |
Next you pansies are gonna complain that Jane Doe and Oceanic had the vocals too quiet in the mix.
| |
Double post, yay Sputnik.
| |
it's not a complaint, it's a wish chill out
| |
not really getting the vocal complaint, they sound prominent enough to me.
| |
NO I WILL NOT FUCKING CHILL OUT SORA!
| |
like, it's loud but it's just a monotonous roar in the background. it's not really just how it's mixed or how loud it is, it's hard to explain
| |
That contributing reviewer tag looks good on you Game.
Vocals sound good to me but tbh the production still kinda bugs me, its better but still not great. Maybe the final mix will sound tighter.
| |
"That contributing reviewer tag looks good on you Game."
agreed hard
i appreciate hoffman so much. he has such an emotive roar and he never overuses it so his small range wears thin. really his vocals are so sparse on these songs. plus he does those fire electronics so kudos
| |
could also just be the dude's delivery
| |
Great song, the mix is definitely better than on TFP. Cautiously optimistic that is will rule.
| |
already like this more than anything else they've done. I am hearing quite a bit of frequency masking, particularly with the vocals conflicting with the guitars. still pretty badass nevertheless.
| |
"I am hearing quite a bit of frequency masking, particularly with the vocals conflicting with the guitars"
glad im not the only one who hears this
| |
Vocals could be a little lower in the mix if you ask me. But that's my one small gripe. I REALLY dig this song. I would love to hear more of those higher range vocals that showed up towards the end of the track, the variety does them a lot of good and I honestly think that pitch flows with the overall tone of the music better than the growls do.
| |
the song is extremely solid fallujah stuff but it sounds EXACTLY like any song on TFP with different production. this is still one of todays most exciting death metal sounds but I really hope the album offers more innovation and surprises...
| |
that's fine, I'm sure everyone would love another tfp with better production
| |
If none of you people know, Mike Semesky is making an appearance in this record
| |
Now all we need is a David Draiman feature.
| |
Yeah the more I listen the better this gets. I feel like horrid production is a must-have for modern tech death/unique leader-style bands so this is pretty damn good by those standards
| |
yeah or Ulcerate, StarGazer, Alkaloid, Pyrrhon, Flourishing, etc.
| |
"Now all we need is a David Draiman feature."
Lmao
| |
Interesting and an improvement as far as quality but the song didn't really catch me like Sapphire on TFP.
| |
Good song, despite the mediocre female vocals (quite unnecessary).
| |
Probably their worst song
| |
"Probably their worst song"
wut
| |
It sounds unfinished. Should've developed some ideas more, but it's fucking awesome. Love the fem vox, was a little worried when I read a couple interviews but I'm fairly certain this album will crush tfp
| |
Not a bad song, and even though the production is questionable it ain't killing the mood like it did on Flesh
| |
Never been a fan of this band, but best Fallujah song ever for me.
