Do people really prefer the older album's production? lol

That's a shame when the music is good but the production is the worst aspect. I thought since it was black metallish it was kind of meant to sound that way. I do wish the guitars were clearer.
I suppose it IS what they wanted though right..?

I agree that guitars could've had more powerful, prominent sound, but I actually don't find many other flaws. well, ok, maybe if their drummer was a bit more creative and diverse, it would sound even better. the biggest gripe I usually have with other similar bands is too much focus on the dark atmosphere while not having awesome riffs to support it, but this record has both.
Spiraling Towards The Ultimate End still remains my favorite Adversarial song, just because of that sick sick outro. I wish there were more similar parts on this album, but yea, it's excellent as it is.

Many extreme metal bands have basically made the denial of glamour or anything mainstream a part of their image. With the inaccessible music, band name logos you can't read, dark band photos not highlighting members, and the production is one of those things. Like the riffs are good but due to the abysmal offerings of life should not shine through but be fogged by melancholy.
Or they are like an individual's great creative potential blemished by a society that seeks to destroy the worth of the individual.

Just hypothesizing here.
What do'ya think?
