Yeah I'm pretty excited, Burton sounds pissed as usual and those keys feel like they are gonna lead into a killer chorus.
Just gotta wait for a full track now!
|
| |
Looks like one of those videos they play before Nemesis: Sub-Terra at Alton Towers
|
| |
This sounds a bit clumsy but fresh. And fresh is what I'd like from Fear Factory now. The extract isn't a dull riff covered with double-bass and it is promising that they chose it in my opinion.
I wonder if the sampled explanation of what genexus is by a BBC radio host will be on the album as was the trailer to The Industrialist.
I maintain my excited 3.7/5 pointless prediction.
|
| |
Weirdly pumped
|
| |
Don't kid yourself. This sounds just like everything else fear factory have done.
|
| |
How dare you !
|
| |
i like fear factory but they could swap around any of the words in that video with any other words from any other of their songs and nothing would change
|
| |
Yeah, that's true, the lyrics ring quite hollow in that trailer.
|
| |
I like fear factory Kevin. I just agree with Ovrot.
|
| |
Personally, I think their weakest albums are their comeback albums and this sounded like shit as well.
|
| |
At this point I'm expecting this to be just as good as Industrialist, which might not be a good sign.
"Personally, I think their weakest albums are their comeback albums and this sounded like shit as well."
If you're saying that Transgression is better than Mechanize then you might be smoking something.
|
| |
The video made me cringe but the small teaser of the actual music actually didn't sound bad. Will probably be around Industrialist quality.
|
| |
like this band just isn't that bad
|
| |
Still, I'm impatient to hear something. Even though each album has been a little disappointement since Digimortal. I'm always quite curious about their work and there's always something I enjoy. And at least, it'll be a real drummer on that one and it won't last 38 minutes.
|
| |
Sounded like it could have fit in on Mechanize, which is a good thing imo.
Also, personally, I think Mechanize is one of their stronger albums
|
| |
Why does Transgression always get shit on so much? The production is horrible, but the songwriting itself has some of the best they've ever done. At least on Archetype and Transgression the band were trying something new though. Mechanize and to a lesser extent The Industrialist remind me of Dino trying to recreate earlier songs in the bands catalog.
I'll be honest though, I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything this band has put out except Digimortal, so I highly doubt this will be outright disappointing, but so far it sounds like they're just going to tread water.
|
| |
"Why does Transgression always get shit on so much?"
Because it's a shitty album
|
| |
Excited to see these guys and Born of Osiris in August
|
| |
Strange similarity between this FF song (Where Evil Dwells):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKIf2BUGKjw
And that more recent Pig VS Primitive Race other (Long Live Death):
http://metropolisrecords.bandcamp.com/album/long-in-the-tooth
And actually I'm quite enjoying this Raymond Watts comeback. And the full length is released on august the 7th just like FF.
|
| |
Archetype is lame but transgression is a nice change of paste, at least for me.
|
| |
Transgression was fun and I wish they had had time to polish and finish it like it deserved. What makes me seriously not regret the Wolbers, Herrera line up is Arkaea's album. Some songs were to be on Fear Factory's following release and were very boring and dull guitarwise.
|
| |
I heard the band had quite of bit of time to write and comb over this record. Plus the producer was pretty hot on it too. I'm optimistic for this one.
|
| |
"If you're saying that Transgression is better than Mechanize then you might be smoking something."
I think he's smoking something but not because of what he said hahahahaha
|
| |
Archetype is better than a few FF records tbh.
|
| |
Well, 2 of them anyway
Archetype is lame but transgression is a nice change of paste, at least for me.
New paste is always good. I try and mix mine up weekly
|
| |
man u did some things
|
| |
all my life i confuced pace with paste. Thx for saving my anus devi
|
| |
On a related note, never, and I repeat, NEVER, put toothpaste on your dick for any reason...
Did you have to try and convince your potentially naive, mildly underage girlfriend that it was a toothbrush just to get some head?
|
| |
well this discussion escalated quickly
|
| |
thats why I love sputness
|
| |
At least it wasn't circumcision.
|
| |
If you're saying that Transgression is better than Mechanize then you might be smoking something.
I consider it an E.P. with some covers. Demanufacture, Obsolete (obvious best album) and Archetype are their best albums. They just had more dynamics and memorable songs.
|
| |
Wiz laying down the law, miss you :[
|
| |
archetype hahaha
|
| |
@Wizard
Obsolete is not their obvious best album.
If it were, you wouldn't need writing it that way.
|
| |
Have you ever listened to FF before Snide?
|
| |
New song: http://youtu.be/cfIAqYhLSr0
Sounds like something off Digimortal
|
| |
hmm not bad, but could've been a lot better.
|
| |
Well that sucked really hard.
|
| |
I like the cleans on the chorus but that riff is not a FF riff, sounds like some djent bullshit.
|
| |
I didn't think much of it. Probably wearing the wrong headphones.
|
| |
It sounds like a heavier digimortal song. I like the riff but... well... or does it sound like Edgecrusher now that I think ? I think I would have loved it back in 2001. Now, I don't know. If it's the only strongly single oriented track on the album, I'll be ok with it. And now that I think "powershifter" and "recharger" I didn't like that much. This, I will listen to more easily.
@ASnideReturns if you're discovering Fear Factory, then it might be relevent to insist. I remember totally hating the harsh vocals when I discovered the band (demanufacture) and got used to it. And it didn't took me three days, more like six months. It was my first truly heavy band. But it was totally worth it.
|
| |
It's edge crusher esque yeah but dunno, feels a tad dull.
|
| |
I was waiting for the "BREAK OF THE EDGECRUSHER" when i heard the song tbh.
Plus djent
|
| |
HE HACKS YOUR SOUL!
deep shit bro
|
| |
demanufacture is their best record, nothing comes close, no competition
|
| |
soul hacker is ok. guitar sound djents and i dont really like it. chorus is good as expected, at least on first listen. that little "guitar solo" bit sounded like something Fredrik Thordendal would play as leads
|
| |
so they need two guitars to play this song live lol
|
| |
Song is a disappointment but hopefully the rest of the album will have them bpm's and kick pedals from hell.
|
| |
yeah its disappointing, but i firmly set my bar low for this one. i could sense something not beeing right with genexus right when they relevealed it.
|
| |
Raaaa, don't be so negative. It'll be an alright album for sure. Imagine it will be to obsolete what this song is to Edgecrusher. Would it be a disaster ?
|
| |
At least it had a solo
|
| |
so prog
|
| |
idk if I would consider it prog
|
| |
New track:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VHVOr4o1gw
|
| |
dat beginning riff
pretty good song actually
|
| |
yeah better than the first single
|
