Goo Goo Dolls add to tour

Following a four-week break, The Goo Goo Dolls will return to the road this month, and have added more than a dozen new dates to their US tour.

The group will pick things up again May 27 in Simpsonville, SC, and travel all over the country into September. Major markets added to the itinerary include Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland and Dallas, and a second show has been added in Los Angeles.

The Goo Goo Dolls will once again take USA Harvest on the road to collect and distribute canned food and goods for needy families in each market along the way. Collection containers can be found near the entrance of each concert venue.

In the midst of their US tour, the Dolls will take a couple of international jaunts, jetting off to Ireland and the UK June 7-11 and hitting Japan and more cities in the UK Aug. 11-19. Information about those shows can be found at the Dolls' website.

The band continues to support its eighth studio album, last year's gold-certified "Let Love In." The set has spawned four hit singles, including "Stay With You" and the title track, which are streaming at the Dolls' MySpace page.

The band currently holds the record for most Top 10 hits at Hot AC radio, with 12 consecutive tracks in the format, according to a press release.

The Dolls have recorded a new song called "Fiction" for the upcoming film "Transformers," according to a press release. Details on the film and soundtrack are expected to surface shortly.

$70 for a horrible lawn seat in Baltimore is really a bit much...saw them in DC for $50 at a club, and I was still only 20 ft away from the stage....the line was about 3 blocks long, though.
