Erak's clean vox definitely improved on the first track, but the screams are just terrible.

It'd be better if he learned more than one lead and how to not sound like an idiot when he sings.

Some of the experimenting was good.

Some of the experimenting was bad.

The vocals feel hit and miss throughout. Seattlantis is tight as hell though.

am i the only one who thinks this could possibly be their best album besides the ghostship demoes? its so experimental, it shows wat ELSE the fall of troy can do besides the usual same sounding songs of doppelganger.... i love it, dont know about you

the highpictched screams are now low or normal ranged and it sounds bad. i hate how his clean vocals are excessively thrown at you. they're louder than any other track in the songs, completely overpowering of the rest of the band.

im pissed, i wanted this cd to be amazing. mediocrity sucks.

Seattlantis is probably the best song, and it sounds decent in terms of TFOT. but ew.....this album just makes them sound like they digressed, and i dont hear your "experimenting" on this album aside from the clean vocals

I am not yet sure what to think about it. It sounds like a mix of Alien Ant Farm, Coheed & Cambria ans 70s Rock/Psychedelic/Prog. Mixed with Speed and LSD.

I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing...

I can understand why some people don't like this but you can't say that this is bad music, more than ever in technically way. I wonder how people who listen to Silverstein or something can say that. I personally like the most of the new songs, especially the first three.

Well for starters the guy from Silverstein can scream without making me cringe everytime. Also his singing melodies are plenty more listenable then this. In terms of musical talent these guys surely are ahead but plenty of it does not seemed well performed to me, or maybe it's just that I don't like the vocals that much. Anyways, I'm not a huge fan of this band and never really have been so you don't need to take it all personal and next time when you make something that obvious you can just use my user name kthxhaveaniceday.

I got this already, and IMO it eats Doppleganger alive as a proper album. Not a fan of the vocal mix though, and some of his high-pitched singing is just HORRIBLE. Overall it's great though, and fans of the s/t and Ghostship Demos will love it.

Hmm...

Well, firstly, I think it's good that they're experimenting with different sounds and influences - blues in particular. A couple of the songs have a sort of hardcore blues thing, and if they can improve that sound it could be something totally unique and cool. It works on a couple of songs in my opinion (A Quarter Past) but fails on others (Oh, The Casino!)

Erak's vocals have improved a lot really. His range is way bigger with clean vocals and even with his screaming, his scream sounds more raspy then before, which I don't think I enjoy that much.

The massive jump in the amount of singing is a plus and negative on this album. On one hand, there are vocal parts that really match and have some catchy hooks. On the other hand, some parts fail, and it forces the other intruments to take a backseat a lot of the time. Instead of the catchy guitar riffs we have occasionally catchy vocals.

What dissapointed me most was the fact that instead of infusing blues with their old style, they seperated the two genres in different tracks.

I think I like it, but i'm not sure yet. I'm gonna give it more time to sink in and then see, and I think you guys should too. It's definitely a big change in sound, so let it sink in.
