August Burns Red to make LP #7

2014-06-10 by Toondude | 40 Comments
Heavy metal band August Burns Red has just announced that they will in fact be working on their next record this year. Drummer Matt Greiner stated that after they
finish touring, they will head home in the fall and will start recording sessions in the winter. If true, then this next record will be expected next year.

This announcement comes only about a year after the band's most recent album Rescue And Restore was released.

Cool, wasn't big on their last one when I first heard it but I'll probably give it another shot.

Awesome. I haven't really kept up with ABR since Constellations, but everything that they've done thus far has been great.

Yeah I'll be pickin this up for sure. Rescue and Restore was a redemption of sorts for me (leveler was just boring and empty with no feels). I haven't listened to R&R in a looooong time will jam soon

Good deal. They're capable of a lot better than R&R.

R&R was a truly great album, especially after Leveler. More songs like Spirit Breaker, less spoken word passages like in... Spirit Breaker

Kinda glad to hear they're jumping back in the studio earlier than usual. Edit: Actually, this isn't really that early.

R&R was probably their best album. They build on that one, no doubt that this will be 4.5 material.

R&R was seriously great, looking forward to the new one. I just don't want them to rush it out.

Everything after constellations has been lacking that ABR emotion. Just sounds like they're dialing it in. Spirit breaker was alright though.

Curse.

Their last one blew me away...and then grew off me quite quickly, but I'll listen to the new album based on it anyway

R&R was fantastic, but I wish they'd go full prog now.

I love them, but they've hit the glass ceiling with R&R.

This is excellent news. R&R is no doubt their best and most mature record. It'll be interesting to see how they'll progress from here.
