Skynet Accident & Indiegogo

2014-06-02 by JohnFire | 12 Comments
Hamilton, Ontario band Skynet were involved in a pretty gnarly van accident, which summed up reads like this - tire blew, van hit truck at 100km/h, van and trailer smashed, people are okay.

The band is planning on finishing their tour but are in need of help buying a new van & trailer to keep on touring. You can see a video of them describing what happened in more detail, including photos, and a statement why they chose to launch an Indiegogo and of course and most importantly contribute here:

That sucks and it's cool they're okay, but this band makes some terribly uninspired music.

disagree. their recent EP 'The Wild' is pretty dam good. i seriously dig about 4 tracks from it.

that being said, if i had the funds i would contribute. maybe i'll just get around to buying their album so i can support them in some way. been meaning to do that

Poopity news. Do none of these bands that get in accidents have insurance?

just a guess but i bet it's expensive to insure all the equipment while traveling if a band doesn't have much income.

i dont peg these guys to be rolling in cash lol

Terrible news, shocked when I heard it. Blake is a friend of mine and my band had just played a festival show with these guys the day before this happened. Glad they're okay.

yeah it's a huge blessing that none of them were seriously injured. the fact that they have their health and can continue to make music is probably so huge for them.

hope they manage to get their stuff replaced

Not to sound like a dick but I never even listened to them until seeing this article :/ I knew of them a long time ago but didn't know they had music out.

nothing dickish about that. if you like metalcore you'd probably like skynet. the vocals are damn good, especially in the song J.R.M from their newest EP "The Wild"

on that note i just donated 20$ i get a digi copy of the wild with it, so im good
