Might have to go to this. Depends on what the new one sounds like.
| |
^This. Should be interesting. It sounds like they are taking a new direction in some ways.
This guy kind of breaks it down in this Stereogum article.

Sweet, not their biggest fan but i'll deff try to catch this
| |
Wow, a Florida date.
| |
A friend of mine does vocals and bass in Obsidian Tongue. They're an awesome progressive black metal band and definitely excited to be playing some shows with Agalloch.
| |
New York sucks for concerts unless you live in NYC, and anyone who doesn't live in NYC doesn't want to drive all the way there for a concert because NYC sucks.
| |
It's not out yet and it's already an opus. Wow.
| |
@Zippa- Yeah. Poor word choice probably. Sorry. Still trying to get the hang of writing the news articles. I was trying to find a more interesting word for 'album'.
| |
definitely attending the boston show
| |
damn i have to miss the date that's in my area... would be cool to see these guys
| |
"It's not out yet and it's already an opus. Wow."
Opus is a neutral word, like "composition", there's nothing wrong with calling something unreleased an opus.
| |
Apparently this band is gonna be playing in my city, might have to check them out
| |
^ this.
He was thinking of magnum opus.
| |
Aw, Funeralopolis you ruined it.
I'm probably going to go see them on this tour though.
| |
oh yes, oh yes
| |
Just bought my tickets for Chicago. YES. Obsidian Tongue sounds pretty decent, too.
| |
TM and Krieg: Thanks for clarifying. Hopefully the rest of article reads OK.
| |
Love this band, but their music doesn't translate that well to the stage. Stoked for the new LP though
| |
They do lose the acoustic side of things (and some of their folky aspect because of it) live, but I still thought their show was great when I saw em.
| |
idk about this, i might go. i feel like their music needs to be listened to in solitude.
| |
I've never seen them live so I'm not sure what to expect. Part of the reason I love them so much is their acoustic/folky side and the whole solitude aspect of it, but I feel like the atmosphere at one of their shows would be absolutely massive.
| |
"where the fuck! is Oregon???????"
This is only the confirmed first leg.
| |
I'm surprised Kyle. You're in for a treat though.
| |
fti, you'd think that since they're from Oregon that they'd hit that state efuckingventually
| |
"I'm surprised Kyle. You're in for a treat though."
Last time they came around I had a mid term starting 1/2 hour before show time, and I was almost 5 hours from the venue.
| |
Def going to be at the Philly show. I saw them in Philly on their 'Marrow' tour as well, they are absolutely fucking solid and awesome live. Highly recommend if you can make it to a show. They played for a solid 2 hours, new stuff and tons of old favorites from Ashes and Mantle.

I'll bet the "Marrow" tour was solid. There were no dates anywhere close to me, so I missed that tour. I did catch them on the 2012 Summer Tour though, when they were playing Faustian Echoes front to back. Pretty fun show.

Damn if only it was in Orlando as well
| |

You'll definitely enjoy it. Sounds like you like them for the same reasons I do, and their live show is a bit of a departure from that but yeah the atmosphere is awesome and they're great.
| |
if only I didn't live in the middle of nowhere...
| |
Nobody I like ever comes to Albuquerque...
| |
I don't think anyone comes to Albuquerque.
| |
Yeah.
| |
Is that proportionate to the music scene in ABQ? I mean, is it smart for bands to skip that city? Or if a band/artist did stop in ABQ, would they get a huge audience?
| |
From what I've seen only bands that are way out of their prime and boring festivals come around. Maybe
I just need to look more closely.
| |
i hear they will add some west coast dates once they are confirmed so all you west coast bros don't worry. also, these guys are AMAZING live. I've seen them twice and they put on one hell of an emotional and heartfelt show. any big fan of them should go out of their way to see them live
| |
Agalloch are so good live. I disagree with people who say the atmosphere doesn't translate well live. If you are paying attention they obviously put a lot of thought into the dynamics of their setlist and the use of incense/wood/animal bones they have on stage doesn't hurt ;) I'm stoked to see them again in Springfield, they are one of the few bands I will travel a couple hours to see.
| |
Holy fuck they're actually coming to Ottawa! HOLY FUCK
| |
that springfield date is looking sexy
| |
OH MY GOD THEY ARE COMING TO MY CITY
| |
Fuck, of course they're not coming to my state. Looks like I'm hopping on a plane to Colorado after all.
| |
i hear they will add some west coast dates once they are confirmed so all you west coast bros don't worry [2]

"i hear they will add some west coast dates once they are confirmed so all you west coast bros don't worry"
Makes me feel a little bit better, thank you :]
| |
yeah i live in louisiana so i'm just hoping that they somehow swing by down here on one of those dates. will probably end up flying somewhere if they don't though
| |
i've done it a few times. flew to Los angeles to see opeth twice. flew there for meshuggah too. mostly i just use it as an excuse to go to visit my friends who live in various cities.
| |
i'm 26 and went to college out of state so i guess i've had a lot of time and opportunity to make a good deal of friends
| |
fuck it, im going.
| |
thats old as the dickens
| |
Pretty cool that Ottawa is the only Musk Ox date as well. Will be getting a ticket the minute I see them on sale
| |
always the fucking earl!
| |
dude i saw them play at the earl back when marrow first came out and it was amazing
| |
I know it's a lot to ask for, given that these guys aren't hugely popular, but maybe doing a show in Australia, perhaps?
| |
my niggas comin to Detroit! stoked
