Thought this was that awful Anders Friden nu-metal band.

I remember when this band was quirky and occasionally wrote a song that could not be described as "painfully slow"

Night Vision Binoculars is an awesome song.

He's British man, but Australia is a bit like his second home, he spends a shitload of time touring around here and one of his albums (Flight of the Crow) is full of collaborations with Australian artists
And yes he's the Let Her Go guy but don't judge him off that song, please

And no worries. I don't like that song much, anyway. Traveling Alone is where it's at.

Let Her Go's alright, just overplayed, but a hefty chunk of his discog is far better than it. Ah, Traveling Alone I don't believe I've heard, must be one of the thousand songs he released only on YouTube and not on an album

Australia seems pretty cool from what I can tell. I have a good friend that lives there, and he seems to like it alright. I'm only concerned about the overwhelming wildlife threats lol. But my girl wants to go there someday, so I reckon I'll have to take a trip there at some point in life.

It is very overplayed, but at least it's alright. It all does seem pretty solid indeed.
You can find a real nice live version of Traveling Alone on Youtube, it's the only place I've found it.

Firstly he has an amazing voice
Secondly his lyrics are fucking beyond belief good (lol gay)
And also I've never heard that kind of gradual build-and-release in any other song of this genre

I'm not really well versed in the genre so, just as you probably couldn't see what's so different between say Exodus and Slayer, I can't tell what's different between this and basically any other folk pop/rock stuff I've heard

This is aite. Dudes got a great voice no doubt - but the music really lacks any kind of intensity or edge & is ultimately completely forgettable for me like most typical hipster folky pop stuff.
