Not only did they win their first Grammy, but thrash kings Slayer dominated Revolver's Reader's Polls.

They won:

Best Guitarist/Guitar team (Kerry King and Jeff Hannemen)
Best Drummer (Dave Lombardo)

They also placed in the top 5 for:

Best Band Ever
Best Live Band
Album of the Year (Christ Illusion)
Band of the Year

In Spin's 2006 Reader's Poll, Slayer also walked away with "Best Live Band"

Slayer is good, but not THAT good.

Best guitar team ever is probably Alexi and Roope from Bodom.

I'd be torn in my vote between Criss/Chris of Savatage (Edge of Thorns was total song-gasm), Tim/Stu of Dungeon, Adrian/Dave/Janick of Maiden, and Glenn/KK of Judas Priest.

i'd say Glenn/KK from Judas Priest, Sherman/Denner from Mercyful Fate and Friedman/Mustaine.

I agree. Herman Li and Sam Totman for best guitar duo. And Dave Lombardo for best drummer was a wise choice

I agree, I don't think Jeff and King are the best duo out there. They're great at what they do, but they aren't the most jaw-dropping guitarists you'll come across.
But Dave on the other hand...Dave is just a God...

Dave is far from being a drummer god. I would even say is fairly average compared of all the attention he gets.

Slay-errrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. They are the best guitar duo.... Others come close, but have you hard the ferocious speed at which Slayer plays? And for them to alternate solos every four to eight beats, while the other carries on rhythm? God....

Adrian Smith, Janick Gers, and Dave Murraypay in Iron Maiden. Personally, I don't know if they're THAT good of a team; add to that while all three are Maiden alumni, it's only been Maiden's last three albums that all three appear on the same album
