Fall Out Boy's Favourite Albums

2007-03-02 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 34 Comments
Chart-topping pop-punkers Fall Out Boy conducted an interview recently with Entertainment Weekly, each naming the five albums which influenced them most as individuals, and some of those chosen are a little unexpected.

Frontman Patrick Stump cites Chicago folky Steve Goodman and Prince protégés The Time alongside Marvin Gaye and Elvis Costello, while bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley each name Metallica albums: Trohman choosing ...And Justice For All while the other two plumped for Master of Puppets.

how can a band be influenced by a metal band when there is no metal in their music. fall out boy just makes me laugh and somewhat upset that theyre so worshiped by the media. i hate them so much, they piss me off and pete wentz is a douche. sorry if im offending anybody, i just hate when crap gets noticed and theres so much more talented musicians and bands out there that make music to make music not just make junk thats going to sell to the retarded media

You probably shouldn't say anything if you haven't actually listened to the band and you are basing an opinion off of one song.

Too bad they are listed as "emo superstars," other than their natural genre "pop-punk."

Fall Out Boy is gay.
In fact, pop-punk is gay in general.
"Yeah, we're hardcore!! We listen to Metallica! In fact, we listen to Master Of Puppets, the album every friggin band picks in their 'fave' list!!"

Rock on, FOB. Not.

Of course, any genre other than metal is gay. Say Anything, Green Day and AFI be damned!

I hate it when bands list their influences and albums and they claim you can hear it in their sound while it's just very shitty music without any influence at all.

I'm not a big fan of fall out boy...there songs are just so stupid. "This aint a scene, it's a god damn arms race?" The stupidity of that sentance boggles the mind. I'd much rather listen to Blink-182 than Fall Out Boy.

I found it funny that Pete Wentz said Master of Puppets is better than And Justice For All because it had a cooler T- Shirt.

what a bunch of faggots and queers. metallica, queen and the smiths i see a recurring pattern all the bands have faggots in the band.

If Fall Out Boy put their influences into their music instead off just media attention influences, they could maybe write some decent music.

These guys really need to get over them selves.
1) Bass isnt a pick instrument, you use your fingers to do much more creative things.
2) Guitar, there aren't 2 rhythm!
3) Trying to be funny by being stupid in their music videos is just a rip of Napolean D.
4) Please! Never emulate Back Street Boyz! For the love of God!

i think he just said "Napolean D" while trying to make fun of something... and I think its rather uncreative to think you have to use fingers on a bass to be creative. and backstreet boys are two words and FOB have never tried to emulate BSB. not even in their videos.

oh and hey how is alexisonfire(fag)?

^ I don't think people would give him shit for putting a different Metallica album, but probably for being in Fall out Boy.
