Chevelle Teams w/ Wes Craven 2007-02-23 by Jom | 4 Comments | According to Launch, Chevelle has teamed up with legendary horror director Wes Craven for a contest in which fans can create their own video for the band's new single, "Well Enough Alone," from the forthcoming album Vena Sera, which has a release date of April 3rd.
Craven, director of Nightmare On Elm Street, Scream, and manifold other horror classics, will choose the winner from the twenty highest-rated finalists based on peer voting. The winner will receive $3,500 in cash and a trip to Los Angeles for the chance to pitch a movie idea to executives at Fox Atomic Films.
Frontan Pete Loeffler told Launch that "Well Enough Alone" is a dark song about relationships:
Life is not worth living without honest, real relationships with people, and the song touches on what happens if some things are sort of abandoned and, you know, you never really get to the true, down-and-dirty point with people and really get to know them. So it's kind of telling people, don't leave things untouched, don't leave any stone unturned with your close people in your life.
Entrants can register at FoxAtomic.com, where they'll have access to the Blender, a web tool that can be used to edit the contestants' own original material with clips from the movies The Hills Have Eyes and its upcoming sequel, appropriately and astutely titled The Hills Have Eyes 2, which will be released on March 23rd.

sounds aight
| | | I want to hear the new single. It'll be interesting to see if the new bassist has affected their sound.
| | | I can't wait for their next album. I'm happy i got into them before it.
| | | The new song doesn't have much bass to brag about but it does have a weird eeriness to it. Storm in a teacup, go on the main site www.chevelleinc.com and the single is on the jukebox. The radio edit is poo poo, though.
