Abomination.
| |
Abomination. [2] why did they think that would be a good idea?
| |
well that was depressing
| |
this is some surprising news
| |
cant lie, song's good
| |
i don't want to listen :-[
| |
this band
| |
Band is average. Singer is average -> Song is average.
| |
I laughed when I saw this, looks like the most random teamup ever... But the vocals actually sound alright. The problem is that the song is very forgettable.
| |
That could've been worse but seriously where did this even come from?
| |
sounds like STP.... why are people saying an abomination?
| |
Better than the cacophany of uselessness that the last album was.
| |
good shit
| |
Is like a dead by sunrise single with a big grunge vibe. Is good but nothing more, actually is better than a big part of the last album and chester is a versatile and good vocalist which makes the things a little bit interesting, obivously this is not at the same level of core and purple. People saying that this song an abomination are the typical bimbos and douches who hate LP just for being cool
| |
yeah chester aint bad at all. still a weird fit because weiland was also very good and has a unique voice.
| |
Some parts of the song are decent, like the solo and the bridge, but overall it's just a mainstream post-grunge song with an explosive and cheesy chorus. Meh.
| |
linkin pilots
| |
prefer weiland better, but not that bad
| |
Of course I prefer weiland ( but 90's works cuz the last album was mediocre), but chester doesn't make a bad job
| |
watch how linkin park and stp do a crossover album like lp did with jay-z
| |
they'll call it the "hybrid core".
| |
At first I was like Abomination [3] then I listened to it. It's actually quite good.
| |
That mash up with jay-z was bland, both ruined numb and of the 6 tracks included only 2 mash-up were good.
| |
jay-z has that effect on things.
| |
It's funny b/c Chester has said that Weiland is his biggest influence and that he wouldn't join Velvet Revolver after Weiland left out of respect. Guess he got over that.
| |
Interesting choice for a replacement. He's an alright singer, but his voice and singing style does NOT fit STP's music at all. And he tries to sound like Weiland as a result, which really doesn't work. But overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the song, I was expecting an abomination like everyone else.
| |
The song itself was pretty decent, had those neat harmonic touches that set STP apart from the rest. I do not enjoy Chester's vocals though, he sounds feeble and out of his element, especially on the chorus.
STP sans Weiland. What has the world come to.
| |
still better than anything on the last STP album
| |
@StallionMang
Chester isn't new to this style. He's been doing it since at least the mid 90s. I'm guessing you haven't heard of Grey Daze before? He's also more than an alright singer imo.
| |
And I thought their last album was bad...
| |
Wow this is surprisingly good. Still STP hasn't been relevant since... shit I don't even know.
| |
Dece song, didn't like the vocals.
| |
Chester made shit like this before with grey daze, dead by sunrise, santana, satriani and slash and his job was very enjoyable, the covers of whole lotta love, paradise city and more made by this guy shows his skill. In fact he is a very good vocalist, I know some people dislike his style, but saying that he sucks is just stupid.
| |
i had no idea of the vocal duty change
lol
| |
Out of Tune
| |
This breaks my heart...
| |
I hate Chester Bennington, but I hate Scott Weiland a lot more. This wasn't half bad. Way better than that "When we used to take drugs" bullshit.
| |
This is pretty average sounding. Sounds like a track from Dead By Sunrise.
| |
WHAT WHAT WHAT
| |
at least this is better than the shitfest "a thousand suns"
| |
Song's decent apart from the vocals.
| |
pretty solid song
| |
Wow this is surprisingly good. Still STP hasn't been relevant since... shit I don't even know. [2]
Everyone made this out to be much worse than it is. Bennington pulls off the grunge style pretty well.
| |
AND I FEEL THE DOGS BEGIN TO SMELL... WHAT I'VE DONE! I'LL FACE MYSELF, CROSS OUT WHAT I'VE BECOME!
| |
this was weird to listen to, alright rock song but wtf is chester doing with these guys?
| |
@greenlinkinmuse
Save the bandwagon hate bullshit. ATS is a lot better than people give it credit for too.
Also, this song gets better with each listen imo.
| |
Do I really want to listen to this...
Leaning towards no...
| |
i don't even know how to properly express my revulsion at the idea of Bennington in STP.
| |
This is one of the worst songs I've ever heard.
| |
Maybe this time, no next time...
| |
While the band sounds a smidgen reinvigorated on this cut, to me it's still trying to hark back to days of old. Still better than last two STP albums, but still big shoe's to fill as the FNG's strongest points, at least on this song, were the choruses. I don't know if this was even a wise career move considering that the band will seem more like a cover band of it's glory days.
Personally, this should have been made into another project entirely.
| |
I'm kind of hesitant to listen to it; who in the world thought of this pairing?
| |
The song was pretty forgetable. Bennington is a greats inger though, always enjoyed his work. Excited to hear the full record!
| |
It's not really that I can't stand Chester Bennington, it's more about how it's not STP without Weiland. I've heard the argument before, but I still don't care. If Maynard was replaced in Tool with Scott Stapp and they still called it Tool, you'd all be singing a different tune.
| |
Not bad, but I don't think they should carry this project on with the STP name. It's just not fitting. Seems more like an ego battle between the current STP crew and Weiland.
| |
He sounds almost exactly like Weiland, I don't get why people are complaining about the vocals. As for the song, it seems like a continuation of their self-titled which is wasn't SO bad, just forgetable.
| |
He sounds almost exactly like Weiland, I don't get why people are complaining about the vocals [2]
He sounds so much like Weiland it's almost scary. Don't know how STP figured out Chester was going to be a good replacement for Weiland but hats off to them for figuring out Chester was the right person.
| |
Why even bother at this point? Scott was STP.
| |
That doesn't sound anything like dead by sunrise...
| |
I don't understand why they continue on with the STP name, though, really. When Chris Cornell joined Rage Against the Machine sans de la Rocha, they became Audioslave. The only explanation I can think of is that more people will recognize STP, and not a new name, so they just stuck with it for more popularity.
| |
Music is really solid. Vocals are kind of awkward.

you more tho

he's really singing the shit out of those Scott Weiland vocal parts. better than Weiland has been able to in like 15 years.
still sucks.
| |
Song doesn't suck, but major disrespect for the bandmates not changing the band name. STP without Weiland isn't STP, sorry guys.
| |
Didn't dig this song at all.
