No Release Date For Radiohead

2007-02-12 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 4 Comments
Contrary to an announcement by online retailer amazon.com earlier this week, Radiohead have not set August 6 as the release date for their new album.

The website reported that the album would be released via EMI Records, however a spokesperson for the band has denied that a release date has been set, adding that Radiohead have not yet not announced which label will carry the album. Their existing deal with EMI expired upon the release of 2003's Hail To The Thief.

The longer they wait the greater the chance that it will be leaked before it is in stores.. on the other hand, it's understandable they don't want royalty issues with whatever label is releasing it. Pretty crappy situation.

Yeah, royalty issues can bite you in the back. Just the thought that they would actually release a date is surprising because I never expect the dates to be right, unless its a month before.

Ugh. I was so happy when I heard it was coming out August 6th.
Damn, if they put it off till 08 I'll be so pissed.

At this point, it seems like they're wrapping up recording of the album. It'll surely be released this year.
