yay
| |
fuck yes! graham where you @!?
| |
holy shit this is a pleasant surprise
| |
tracks kinda suck though :-/
| |
every song destroyed dug the star wars allusion
| |
didn't see this one coming
| |
Sick
| |
surprisingly great.
| |
binary star AND cannibal ox? whut's next some de la soul?
| |
coo
| |
I don't think it's up to par with The Cold Vein, but it's decent. Still excited about the upcoming album.
| |
GREAT! kinda missed El-P production anyway
| |
Ye I like ye good
| |
Thought this was going to be a collab of Musk Ox and Cannibal Corpse. I am disappoint.
| |
yeah El-P should've produced but this is still fuckin sick
| |
just as much shit as i thought it would be
| |
ahhh shit
| |
can ox without el-p? dang
| |
Was just listening to The Cold Vein the other day...this is good news.
| |
I have a burned copy of The Cold Vein sitting around here somewhere.
| |
Not sure how you're missing El-P production. Dude has done a lot lately.
| |
i was just surprised is all
| |
no reason
| |
cool
| |
El-P is a huge part of Cannibal Ox, obviously. Just because he isn't "technically" a part of the group doesn't mean anything. That's nothing against Vast or Vordul, but come on.. use some common sense..
| |
you would think somebody with 56k comments on music reviews would know a little more about music LOL
| |
yeah exactly i mean he's pretty commonly associated with can ox, wasn't it one of the first defjux albums? idk i always considered him a member of can ox, even if he is more of a solo producer a lot of the time
| |
Cold Vein was the first Jux album released
| |
Only 1 song in, but Gotham is dope
| |
ah, yeah exactly
| |
but yea gotham definitely rules, production is fantastic so im not too bothered by the lack of el-p
| |
there was that first Lif EP and a short compilation EP but it was the first full length they put out
| |
cautiously optimistic about the album... Mega's verse on the 3rd track was pretty underwhelming. The beats are nice but some of the verses could use a little inspiration. the 2nd and 3rd tracks aren't as strong as the first on first listens
| |
man i thought the final track was the best, the production was amazing and had some great rhyymes
| |
the beat is undoubtedly solid, it's just something about some of the rhymes.
The best way I can describe my feeling of some of these rhymes is like when you're listening to some classic wu-tang track, and ghost or meth or GZA just got done busting a hype ass verse, then capp or masta killa come on and deliver some dope insightful lyrics, but kill the flow of things.
i guess i just wanted to hear some pigeon or stress rap esque vordul bars
| |
these are seriously just not that good. i dont know how you could even fool yourself into thinking this production is acceptable. this is cutting edge for like 1995
| |
this sounds like cannibal ox in 2013, which is good and bad
| |
i think the productions fine honestly, what is so unacceptable about it
| |
listen to cold vein. then listen to these songs.
| |
GASSES INHALE
GHOST IN THE SHELL
| |
not really. would it be better than the result? Absolutely. this is pretty unimaginative production. if you dug this you might as well dig into the vast aire discog, you will love it
| |
El-P is not apart of Cannibal Ox. He was a part of the Cold Vein album but that's it. Cannibal Ox were formed out of the hip hop group, Atoms Family. The production doesn't need to be "cutting edge" as long as it's good, and these were pretty good compared to Vast and Vorduls solo stuff. What exactly makes a beat cutting edge anyway? High hat repetitions and deep bass?
| |
Plus Vast Aire and El-P never settled that beef from the 00's. We will most likely never hear El-P and Cann Ox collaborate again.
| |
What beef?
| |
production is more important to me than rapping. this is disappointing coming from cold vein.
| |
I know a thing or 2 when it comes to def jux and can ox homeboy
"el-p isnt what makes cannibal ox cannibal ox"
It's just that it was an ignant statement is all
| |
now all praise el-p... lol
| |
yeah, el-p for sure made can ox what it was. you'd be able to tell that by not only listening to thesesongs but also listening to vast aire's remaining discog.
| |
still holding on to hope though (that the record will be good)
| |
^this
