In what surely must be the worst artistic decision since Morrissey embarked on a solo career, the folks at Disney have decided to double-up on the runaway success of High School Musical with a big screen spin-off, entitled- wait for it- Haunted High School Musical.
The TV film, released in 2006, was a surprise success, recouping its production costs with a cool $100,000,000 to spare, while the soundtrack has sold in excess of six million copies worldwide since its release last January.
"High School Musical sky-rocketed to heights never before achieved by a TV movie, so it's only fitting that its next incarnation should be as a major motion picture," said Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channel Worldwide.
The company also plan to broadcast another made-for-TV sequel High School Musical 2 this summer.

Haunted High School Musical
The title really doesn't roll off the tongue all that great. I never saw the first one but pretty much anyone I talk to says it's a good movie/musical.This Message Edited On 02.10.07

The film was awful and i disliked the songs which were its best feature. but maybe ghosts are what its needs :S

I actually liked High School Musical, but I think that making the haunted one and putting it on big screen id going way to far.
