Winehouse Denies Weight Issue 2007-02-10 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 3 Comments | Londoner Amy Winehouse has responded to critics who've expressed concerns over he rapid weight loss, which has seen her reach an alleged low of just seven stone (98 pounds) in recent months.
The self-confessed alcoholic admits she had fallen below a healthy weight, but blamed the loss on the constant touring and promotion she'd been undergoing in support of her hit album Back To Black. "Someone tried to get me into a weight rehabilitation thing, but I'm the kind of person who can do it by myself," she said.
"I'm not in denial; I knew I had a problem, but it got to the point where it was like, 'We want you to eat three solid meals a day,' and I was like, 'No girl under the age of 30 eats three meals a day. Girls eat two meals a day," adding that certain people would do well to mind their own business.
As previously reported, Amy Winehouse's performance on RTÉ's Other Voices was broadcast last week, and is available for streaming from the show's website.
