@Vermicide I doubt there's any band playing this genre of music whose musicianship is special. Then again it doesn't have to be.

I know cause its pop punk, you can't expect that they start playing like steven wilson or malmsteem, but a big percent of the bands in pop punk are capable to make music more interesting and with more elements which add something else to the genre. This band doesn't have that in my opinion

I didn't day that this genre is shitty. The genre has some solid groups, bands like brand new, NOFX ,
pennywise and more are good example . I enjoy some bands of this genre, but generic pop punk with
nothing good to offer is be atrocius as fuck. The wave of pop punk bands praised by the so cal emos
with eye liner and homo haircuts that appeared in mid 00's contains some of the worst crimes against
rock and punk

Not as bad as the comments here lead me to believe. The Karen O homage/rip off (pick your poison) is at least an attempt at something new. Do hope the rest of the album is more... Varied.

It's not bad really, it's just nothing terribly exciting. The chorus is pretty tight in my opinion but the verses and the bridge in particular don't really feel cohesive enough. They're a bit tuneless, in my opinion. I think the most disappointing thing is Hayley's voice isn't nowhere near as good as it sounded on Brand New Eyes.
