I'm pretty sure most of the members in BTBAM listen to other genres, that's the reason they can incorporate elements of other genres in their music plus Dan is in jazz fusion, progressive project.

Yeah these guys definitely don't hide they're musical tastes considering they're named after a Counting Crows song apparently and are very open about how much they like them so if you were to ask about other "core" bands I'm sure they wouldn't lie to you about them liking any.
