Death Cab For Cutie frontman, Benjamin Gibbard, has released the artwork for his new album entitled Former Lives that is due out October 16. In addition, he has announced a tour this fall with Advance Base and Damien Jurado on select dates.

yeah but usually when a band/artist describes their album pre-release, it ends up sounding nothing like what they said it would. so hopefully it just ends up sounding like older death cab lol.

Yea, I really hope he makes another Postal Service album. Such Great Heights is such a good song. Iron and Wine version is too

He's said a few times that this record is going to be a lot different, because it's mainly stuff he wrote during previous sessions that didn't fit into the Death Cab sound even a little bit. So he tweaked it for this sort of thing. Personally, I'm excited for it. Gibbard rarely disappoints.
