Fall Out Boy Turns to Wal-Mart

2006-12-21 by Jom STAFF | 22 Comments
Fall Out Boy proves again that it hits up the coolest retailers and hippest listeners by revealing its pre-order program will be handled by... Wal-Mart?!

Yep, the place where Paris Hilton thinks walls come from. I wish I was kidding, but according to VH1's "Dumbest Celebrity Quotes Ever," that's what she said, and I'm not talking about one's package.

If you want to get Infinity On High, the band's forthcoming album, you'll have to do it through walmart.com. Listeners who are so bold will reap the reward of a digital copy of the single "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," and ANOTHER digital track, exclusive to all Wal-Mart digital shoppers!!!1

Fall Out Boy fans can take solace in knowing that [any and] all profits generated by this spectacular Wal-Mart promotion will be used to:

- keep unions out of all the Wal-Marts scattered across North America,
- keep wages hovering at or around poverty levels, and
- import items from other countries instead of purchasing American-made goods

Here's to hoping those two free downloads are totally worth it, lol!!eleven!!1

HAHA I heard about this the other day. I'm sure their new record will look great next to Backstreet Boy's and N Sync's. Or perhaps I'm alone when I say that single sounds like something a boy band would do.

I heard the first few seconds and turned it off, so I couln't tell you what I think of it. Some time when I'm in the mood I'll give it a full listen. I find their singles slowly get worse.

The Paris Hilton reference was funny but off- topic.

DEATH TO THE CORPORATIONS!!!!!!!

FOB's titles used to be witty, but now they're trying to hard. I actually think they put more thought into the title's of the songs, instead of the actual songs themselves.

i miss lyrics from fall out boy like 'stop burning bridges and drive off of them, so i can forget about you'
i miss the angrier music too. now they are basically a boy band that actually has musical talent and can play instruments.
i dont think i'm gonna be buying (or downloading) their newest album

that friggin single is so damn catchy though.... DAMNIT!!

So a nauseating band has sold their dignity to one of the most corrupt corporations to have existed in the history of capitalism?

I was wondering what that disturbance in the Force was lately.

Hey I work at walmart, I make 8.50 an hour, which is better than my friends who earn minimum wage. frankly though I'm disappointing in us for giving into fallout boy.

''This is precisely why the death of music ingenuity and integrity is among us.''

This should spur on people with integrity and ingenuity to make their feelings felt and their music heard.
