Fuck you guys this band isn't awful.
| |
They're not awful, they just tried pretty hard to fit into a genre stereotype with that first album.
| |
Album art is a neat idea
| |
Artwork is pretty terrible
| |
probably gonna be aoty
| |
i can guarantee you 1st track is inspired by skyrim
| |
Album artwork is quite awesome
| |
I like the album artwork, it's better than Deceiver. It will be a fun listen, as I've liked everything from TWA so far.

woRld alive?
| |
... highlighted the wrong letter... let me try again: worLd alive?
| |
The album art, while still bad, is better than Deceiver. Not sure if this is gonna be good but hoping it will.
| |
Produced by Joey Sturgis= 2-2.75 album.
| |
Artwork is pretty terrible [2]
I hope this isn't one of those sophomore slumps, I listened the shit out of Deceiver. I'm also worried about the run time. 13 songs might be a bit much.
| |
"13 songs might be a bit much."
Couldn't agree more. There are vids of them playing "Wishmaster" live and it sounds pretty cookie cutter tbh. Hoping all the songs aren't like that.
| |
Deceiver was decent but wishmaster sounds like buttholes so no hope 2/5
And lolwut artwork better than deceiver? Nooooo this is so terrible
| |
memphis may fire > this band
| |
Man I sure do love The WORLD Alive
| |
Band has always had fairly long albums and it looks like this one might the longest one yet.
That will probably be the biggest deterrent for me and this album, but looking forward to it regardless.
| |
memphis may fire > this band [2]
| |
Deceiver had some good songs but the abundance of breakdowns weighted the album down. Hopefully there will be atleast a few good songs on this album, I hope they embrace their creativity more on this album because they do have some potential.
| |
Generic Sturgis is producing this?
Well fuck. I thought Deceiver was mediocre as hell, so I doubt this'll be any better; especially if Sturgis is producing it.
| |
memphis may fire > this band [3]
TWA definitely have potential to do something pretty awesome, but they'll probably just sacrifice creativity and uniqueness for more fans.
| |
This band kinda has the right idea. I think they just need to stop relying on some of the genre's "safety zones", and they'll be just fineee.
| |
Yeah Sturgis means this will be no better than a 3 at the very best.
| |
If you thought the cleans were bad in Deciever, wait till Sturgis gets his hands on them.
| |
Ya...Sturgis = playing it safe/no creativity. It gets in the way of his "superior" ability to record a breakdown.
| |
Very whiney, they sounded good on some songs but the band would be much better if they either cut them out completely or use them sparingly.
| |
"They werent that whiney. about as whiney as other metalcore bands like Poison The Well."
Clean vocals have never been a big part of their sound, so what's your point?
| |
My guess is "Dragon Spell" is going to use Chinese scale. "The Hounds of Anubis" used the Egyptian scale, so it would make sense. Either way, stoked for this album!
| |
Sturgis only produced the instruments. Allan Hessler did the production on the vocals.
| |
haha worLd alive. album art is interesting, though i'm not liking the font. Deceiver was pretty good in my opinion, so i will check this out.
| |
stoked
| |
Album art looks like something from a post-grunge or nu metal band from the early 2000's. I hope the deluxe art is better than it. Disappointed.
Either way, I'm still kind of excited to hear what it will sound like.
