is it just me or do these solo ventures rarely work out?
| |
Elect the Dead was decent, Imperfect Harmonies was horrible, this might have a chance
| |
Ok new System now please
| |
His last solo album was really good, will have to listen to this later
| |
new System now please [2]
Having said that, his solo stuff is better than most of its kind.
| |
I was beginning to think that something inside my head is defective, as almost nobody round here liked Imperfect Harmonies.
| |
It was pretty imperfect
| |
and harmonic
| |
OH GOD
DID YOU LET THE MAILBOX LIVE OR DIE?
| |
The "Die" video has more views... And the postal system is feeling sad.
| |
@Dunpeal
Dio, Ozzy Osbourne and Bruce Dickinson had very successful solo ventures. But for the most part solo careers are just terrible
| |
systemunfolded, I'm listening to a Jezabels song and your avatar is head banging to it in perfect time. that's pretty fucking metal I must say
| |
About "Imperfect Harmonies", even loving the album I have to admit that Serj seemed to disregarde the music being created at the moment completely, so it seems a little bit out of place with contemporary albums.
| |
ive always been a fan of his, a few good songs on his solo album. but i feel like he has ran out of ideas and his lyrical content is getting old
| |
@jrowa001
I have to agree with you about the lyrics.
While I keep seeing "Imperfect Harmonies" as a quite musically adventurous album, most lyrics are bland. Well written, but unsurprising.
| |
The "fuck let's figure it out" part sounds like that one static-x song where he goes "covered in jell-o drop dead i need a fix." However, I must say I'm enjoying this.
| |
Also, I let it live.
| |
the verses seemed a little forced
| |
Terrorist

Is there some symbolism behind the mailbox or is he trying to be funny? I Dunno LOL ¯(°_o)/¯
| |
elect the dead was good but i just want system back.
| |
Well that was pretty racist
| |
This sounds like a Tenacious D song. Didn't do anything for me.
| |
Is there some symbolism behind the mailbox or is he trying to be funny?
I'm guessing the mailbox somehow represents a human hostage.
| |
to be honest, I'm more curious as to where SOAD fits into today's musical landscape more than wanting to hear another SOAD album. maybe they'll surprise me, but I feel like sometimes it's unfair to expect all these old bands to reclaim or recapture their former glory
| |
Hard. I'd love a new album, but I'd be surprised if it was any better than a 3.5. Self-titled is and always will be their best.
I WANNA FUCK MY WAY TO THE GARDEN
| |
I want the crazy Serj
So this is acceptable

The song in the middle of the video is supposed to be featured in Harakiri. It sounds good, but nothing unexpected. Like a mix of both previous albums.
| |
Serj looks high as fuck haha
| |
dgaf
| |
Not bad, not bad.
| |
Bad , very bad .
| |
cool song
| |
the little dance that serj did after killing the mailbox made it all worth it
| |
do you know whats wrong with sputnik these days? too many bronys
| |
We don't need your hypocrisy
Execute them kindly for me
| |
his albums are great, excited for his new one
| |
CEO'S ARE THE DISEASE
| |
Hmm... the lyrics are not as cheesy as in Imperfect Harmonies, but we have the playground socialist back. Also, the music didn't seem so great to me. I hope the rest of the album will be better.
