My friend showed me this on FB last night, it's scary/awesome/weird as fuck.
| |
this is pretty amazing
| |
On video it looks awesome. Actually being there live though it was not as good looking. It looked like he was moonwalking forward at times, haha.
| |
I didn't even know we could do this until my friend showed it to me yesterday.
"it's scary/awesome/weird as fuck."
basically sums it up
| |
Read about this yesterday, but it's so awesome to see a video of it.
| |
I heard about this last night. That's pretty damn cool.

| |
what the actual fuck
| |
we can rebuild him
we have the technology
| |
Can't wait for the beef with hologram Biggie
| |
this is amazing
| |
Wait for mandatory clone Pac, once nano-bio technology gives the green light :P. That would be some Hunger Games
| |
Can't wait for the beef with hologram Biggie
[2]
| |
saw this live and i do say it looked very real, to the point where my friend thought it was someone who looked like him
| |
HOLY TITS!
| |
"saw this live"
sonofabitch.
| |
Next week it's possible they'll do Nate Dogg.
| |
this is all my friends on facebook are talking about. yeah, my friends are gangsters what of it
| |
I fear this is going to start a terrible trend. Rather than leave this as a simple demonstration of a technology in an infancy, and shout out to this man's legacy, they're thinking about bringing him on tour.
So now we're getting holograms to go on tour and make money for the record companies. Who's next, Elvis?
| |
Can't wait for the beef with hologram Biggie
Haha this would be excellent
| |
Resurrect all the people!
| |
That being said, HOT DAMN.
| |
"I fear this is going to start a terrible trend. Rather than leave this as a simple demonstration of a technology in an infancy, and shout out to this man's legacy, they're thinking about bringing him on tour."
lol the worst part is Dre and Tupac weren't even on very good terms before he died and now he's doing this. Snoop and Pac were fam tho.
| |

This. Also, once the technology evolves more and becomes even more realistic I can totally see some bands filming one concert and sending the "holograms" to do the rest of their work which is kind of a scary thought.
| |
john and george for a beatles reunion?
| |
Let the grave robbing commence
| |
the walking was so unnatural
also, this made snoop look old as fuck
| |
I heard about this in my INST class today. Holy shit, that's awesome.

| |
this sounds like the worst thing ever but it's actually pretty good
| |
Fucking awesome, but bad for the music industry if you ask me
| |
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1683241/tupac-hologram-tour.jhtml
Who the fuck would go see this seriously!
| |
Band playing one show and sending holograms to every other venue is a terrifying thought.
| |
this is getting blown out of proportion
| |
The hologram was a bit slippery though he just kind of slides across the floor at points.
| |
This is already old news.
| |
wow that was so fucking cool. but i really hope this doesnt get blown out of proportion
| |
So awesome.
| |
Haha, this probably tripped a lot of people out; considering most of the people attending were probably either rolling, on acid, high, or a combination of things.
| |
"It's bouncing around the Web like a beachball at a Nickelback concert."
| |
2pac sucks, bring back Big L
| |
We now have the technology for a hologram! What should we do? Bring back Martin Luther King for a peace rally? Bring back Gandhi for a speech? no nigga we bringin pac back nigga
| |
I'd love to see a hologram of Frank Zappa. Lord knows we need him now more than ever.
| |

ur dum.
| |
scary.
| |
knew he wasnt dead
| |
I love 2pac dearly, but I really don't think he would enjoy seeing this
| |
Not a big Pac fan but damn that rules so much
| |
Guys, I don't think anyone's really recognized that the future is finally and unavoidably here.
| |
i bet this really freaked out people who weren't expecting it for some reason
| |
I'd love to see a hologram of Frank Zappa. Lord knows we need him now more than ever. [2]
| |
funny how the highlight of snoop's performance (aside from this) was him smoking a joint on stage
| |
Shit was sooooo insane live on Sunday, best $350 I've ever spent in my life
| |
Snoop doesn't smoke weed.
| |
That's some star trek shit
| |
This isn't incredibly new or anything. Can't remember what music awards show it was (probably the grammies) but Alicia Keys did a duet with ol' blue eyes a few years back
| |
I predict Metallica will be using this technology to cover up Lars Ulrich's drumming ability.
| |
Also, reminds me far too much of this:

| |
One step closer to concerts like in Macross Plus. Cant wait.
funny how the highlight of snoop's performance (aside from this) was him smoking a joint on stage
I don't know. It was pretty awesome on Gin & Juice when he did the second verse to Tha Shiznit's beat.
Alicia Keys did a duet with ol' blue eyes a few years back That was just a standard video projection on screen though. They do that all the time.
| |
Was it? I can barely remember it
| |
Yeah, she just sat at the piano and it was beside her.
This one with Elvis and Celine Dion is pretty cool. Never knew about this before. http://youtu.be/demh7Whc96s
| |
Old news now, but man this was fucking exciting to watch. Uhhkris and I tripped major balls.
| |
There was some 80s band that used, or had done idk, this thing where they synced up a bunch of robots to do concerts in their place all at the same time. Didn't MF Doom send out lookalikes at some of his shows too?
I think it was just especially eerie just because the hologram had that ethereal glow to it that just felt very surreal, but for me the novelty was that I didn't know they were doing anything of the sort as a cap on Coachella. It reminded me a lot of what Gorillaz wanted to do with a complete hologram band and the show they did with Madonna, so I don't really get why this is being treated as a new innovation that will drastically change the music industry.
| |
"Can someone explain how they got Tupac to say, "What up Coachella" when he died in 1996 and the festival did not even begin until 1999?"
| |
Lol, yeah they cut and pasted it together like a kidnapper's ransom note
| |
would be cool to see them do this with beefcake
| |
Except that Volker Kahl and Robag Wruhme are very much alive, so....
| |
it pleases me to see you name them off. I am all warm and bubbly inside.
| |
Good to see that you didn't think that one through
| |
How it actually worked: http://imgur.com/hc5ln
It wasn't a hologram...
| |
cool to see, but basically what andcas said, true musicians would never substitute this for themselves
| |
Cha-ching
| |
Though prior to reading it i thought they just pieced the phrase out through some of pac's old vocal recordings.
that would be so awkward sounding, i would love to hear that lmao
