|
| |

'Look at all those fking video phones at the start of the video! Thats whats wrong with concert goers these days! Disgusting.'
Would you take away the pleasure that people get from looking at grainy hissing concert footage the next day?!
|
| |
They only record the concerts so they can show off to their Facebook friends that they went to see the band. I fking hate people who do that. Go along and actually enjoy the show with your own eyes you twats.
|
| |
It's not that big a deal bro
|
| |
Yes it is. I want to go to a concert were everyone is actually connected to the music. Do you think people are keen on moshing when they have a phone in their hand?
|
| |
sweet... will watch when I get home. Utub is blocked at school
|
| |
Bigblob, you've got some misguided anger my friend.
|
| |
I'm so angry! RAAWWRRR!
|
| |
I'm with BigBlob, it's annoying and misses the point of a 'live' show imo
|
| |
Dave Grohl's mouth is about twice the size of anyone else's in that picture
|
| |
"Damn. In my opinion this is the weakest song on the album. Fantastic album, okay song. Not sure why they picked it as a single."
See, I disagree. I was hoping they'd choose this song as a single back when I first heard it, before the video for "Walk" was released. I think it's one of the more emotive songs on the album.
|
| |
One of my favourites on the album
|
| |
great song
|
| |
pretty sure andcas is right about that, but i seriously don't know why so many people try to film stuff with their phone anyway, it's not like it's gonna sound or look very good, besides your at the show to have a good time and actually see the band, thats the point, your sharing the show with the people your with and thats what really matters. Great song btw

Foo Fighters writes nothing but awesome songs
|
| |
Whoa sick venue
|
| |
White Limo > all
|
| |
i was at the melbourne show and the crowd was hugeee. they said they were recording for the video and it came out awesome. these guys rule.
|
| |
Yeah, I was at the Melbourne show too (doesn't AAMI Park come up well with its weird ass grandstand?).
Dave actually mentioned at the show that this is his favorite song from a writing perspective, so (even if he is exaggerating a little) it must mean a lot to him. Maybe the family shots at the beginning suggest why.
Oh & andcas, Dave actually made a joke about the phones, lighters, etc... at the show. The night before he went & saw Eminem & mentioned that Em needed an entire song to get the crowd to do it.
As for BigBlob's point, you're right mate... But I got over it years ago. Nothing short of bringing down apple & facebook is gonna change the mindset of your average teen.
|
| |
When will people realise that the ghostly hues coming from their iPhones do not equate in anyway to the real warmth of a lighter. Times have changed.
|
| |
Sorta agree, there has never been a good phone video of a concert, it's pointless. But there's no way to stop people from doing it so what can you do.
|
| |
Actually in this video they really are all you using their phones as faux lighters...not much filming going on
|
| |
'Look at all those fking video phones at the start of the video! Thats whats wrong with concert goers these days! Disgusting.'
All that just to make a really shitty pun
|
| |
Yes it is. I want to go to a concert were everyone is actually connected to the music. Do you think people are keen on moshing when they have a phone in their hand?
Yeah cause jumping around like idiots and bashing into each other is the way to actually connect to the music.
|
| |
"Yeah cause jumping around like idiots and bashing into each other is the way to actually connect to the music. "
So you'd like to go to a metal concert and have everyone standing like zombies with phones in their hands. Ok cool...
|
| |
Recording videos on phones at concerts has never bothered me because I like to focus on what the band is doing and enjoying the fuck out of it rather than looking at the folks around me. Yeah I can imagine if you focus on the people recording and think all the while 'Ugh they're gonna put it up on their Facebooks and even though I'll never see it it pisses me off ugh faggots' then yeah I'd imagine that would be pretty damn annoying. But for reasons I've already stated, it doesn't bother me.
|

I love how much a video can enhance the emotional impact of a song, and add so much context.
To me, this song is Dave Grohl talking about how music has been his life for so long and it really has been his love and his life. The imagery of his personal life and the rock n' roll lifestyle kind of makes me think that he knows he can't play music forever; One day he'll have to give it up professionally for something that means more to him... like his family.
"but it's alright" because he's trading something amazing, for something arguably even more amazing.
Just my opinion though, please don't troll :P
"
|
| |
Just what I think the video portrays. Maybe he meant it to mean something else, but isn't the beauty of music that everyone sees it differently?
What do you think it means/He meant it to mean?
|
| |
I record videos at shows. For one, i like to watch them again later and reminisce. Second, what about all the times people play new unreleased stuff. You still go watch the video on youtube or whatever even if the quality does suck. Thirdly, Sometimes you catch funny shit being said, fights, etc. Lastly, the new iPhone's recording quality rules.
So I don't see the problem. to each his own.
I hated that song, but I love this band. they seem like the coolest group of dudes.
