I like the tracks on their own, but the album seems to lack a kind of focus...

Anthony Green is a pretty bad solo artist. I also never got his praise as a vocalist. He's okay but he's not fantastic.
Don't quit ur day job in Circa Survive, doofus.

I saw him when he solo toured after Avalon and it was a fun as hell show. Dear Child as the closer was worth it alone, but it would depend on how the crowd is.

He'd better stay with Circa Survive, or rejoin Saosin, 'cause this isn't that good. Not bad either, it just doesn't do it for me.

Avalon sounded a bit too much like a good singer who was struggling to do something on his own but wasn't quite confident enough yet. This sounds like he's confident enough to at least expand his sound a bit. It's nothing spectacular but it is at least consistently more interesting than Avalon IMO.

Tmob, serious question:

If I end up reviewing this, can I quote you on that Avalon remark? That's like... dead on.

At the guy above me, that song is in the special edition, only the normal edition is streaming. But the song with Chino is online, and FUCK it's good.
