New Evanescence Video Online 2006-11-28 by Jom | 7 Comments | From the recently-released The Open Door, "Lithium" is the second single from dark-rockers Evanescence, and an official video has been released online.
MTV reports that the video is "a literal take on somewhat-abstract lyrics [sic]," unlike "Call Me When You're Sober's" Little Red Riding Hood concept.
Says frontwoman Amy Lee:
It's not so in-your-face to make the video more literal. Really, though, I think it's all about touching somebody and I hope it does that.
You get in these cycles where you're stuck in bad situations or relationships or whatever and it's hard to make yourself get out even though it's negative and hard. So that's sort of what it's about, breaking free.
When asked why she chose "Lithium" as the title, Lee remarks:
"Lithium" is about making the choice between the comfort of sorrow and the idea of happiness. I chose [to title it "Lithium" because it's] a metaphor for happiness from a negative point of view. It's looking at it like, 'I don't want to numb myself and not feel anymore.'

Lithium was one of the better songs off their new album, but their video was actually quite poor.
First of all, it reminded me of all the other Evanescence videos all mixed into one. Beyond that it reminds me of Nightwish Nemo video a bit with the snow/drowning person. It not ripping it off at all, they aren't the most similar, but similar enough to bug me.

Evanescence arn't that good of a band without Moody, he was the writer that made thier music stand up. Didnt really like them, now even more so...
