Rock Star Supernova CD Stream

2006-11-19 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 14 Comments
Rock Star Supernova have posted their self-titled debut album for streaming in full at MSN Music.

The band featuring Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted came together early this summer and participated in CBS' Rock Star tv show while auditioning singers.

The band chose Canadian Lukas Rossi in August and immediately put the finishing touches on their self-titled debut, which the three founding members had been working on with producer Butch Walker (ex-Marvelous 3) since before the show started.

Bassist Jason Newsted was forced to pull out of the group's upcoming tour after injuring both his shoulders while attempting to catch a falling bass head. He's been replaced temporarily by ex-Black Crowes member Johnny Colt, who joins the band for the tour beginning in Florida on New Year's Eve.

I only watched the show cause Newsted is one of my favorite bassplayers and GNR were an amazing band back in the day. Tommy Lee's a great drummer, but i never a big fan of Motley Crue...so yea, the album sucks, theres like one maybe two decent catchy songs, but nothing special.

In my opinion self-titled albums are dumb.

that settles it, I'm reviewing this. It's looking like a 2.5, but their is a slight possibility it could move up to a 3.

I havent heard the whole album yet, but Headspin (Rossi's orignial) and Be yourself is quite good. But the band is so much better live, the album doesnt do them justice.
