Stars Line Up For Johnny Cash

2006-11-17 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 6 Comments
Thirty-six famous faces from the music, film and modelling worlds are set to feature in a video for Johnny Cash's 'God's Gonna Cut You Down,' taken from his posthumously released A Hundred Highways: American Recordings V.

U2 singer Bono, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee are among the faces confirmed for the video, the concept for which was devised by Justin Timberlake, while working with American Recordings producer Rick Rubin on his latest album.

Other stars who appear in the video include Iggy Pop, Kanye West, Evanescence's Amy Lee, actor Terrence Howard, Anthony Kiedis and Flea of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Chris Rock, Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Kate Moss, Sheryl Crow, Woody Harrelson, the Dixie Chicks, (+44)'s Travis Barker, Kid Rock, Jay-Z and Johnny Depp.

I saw the video premier on Much a week or so ago. It was cool to see people like Mick Jones and Woody Harrelson but was kinda surprised with people like Kate Moss or Kid Rock.

The song is great too. This Message Edited On 11.17.06

Who is the guy who is clapping his hands with his head sorta in an opening and the rest of his body inside something. It's been bugging me for days that I can't think of who that is and because of the way his face looks it sorta resembles a very skinny johnny cash but the jacket looks sorta punkish and he's shirtless. It cuts to a stage right after.

The Justin Timberalke thing shocked me. I agree with AnyColour in wishing some of the above weren't involved on the above list.

I wish Bono would die already.
He's always getting on my nerves.
