Sounds like more of the same, but their first album was a guilty pleasure of mine, so I'm happeh. c:

as fuck
| |
lol @ the song name
| |
I think it's great. Sure, at least so far it doesn't seem like they've musically progressed, but I didn't mind their first album at all. I also love how this is a sequel song to "YDG?!" (my favorite song from them). I mean, the chorus uses the same chord progression and a slightly different vocal line compared to the first.
| |
I can't believe I paused "Xanadu" to listen to that
| |
I don't know it sounds really similar to everything they've done. I would've loved this about a year ago when I liked genericore, but that has grown off me and it just sounds redundant.
| |
first time listening to this band
| |
so obviously digging the fuck out of this mainly because it sounds exactly like their last record
which was great

dam this dude making me look ssssssssssuper uncool
| |
Damn catchy. Decent song, typical Rise Records stuff.
| |
Rise Records should die.
| |
Trebor speaks the truth
| |
crownoffagnets quit posering up this thread we all know u weren't listening to rush u were prob listening to some lame ass deathcore shit like emmure or radiohead or jfac

song rules

How bland.
| |
THE FLOOD IS GETTING CLOSER and i dont think they know that i know how to swim
| |
I enjoy it. Nothing ground breaking, but I don't ever expect OM&M to do anything groundbreaking. It's good for what it is.
| |
lol academy I have nothing against people who like this, I'm just tired of so many bands sounding the same.
| |
Exactly like their first album, kinda bored of the clean vocals. Was ok.
| |
Was going to listen. But then realized that ihad to mow the lawn
| |
i think 'genericore' is used by people who actually like this type of shitty music but feel pressured to pretend they don't
i mean it's generic, and it's metalcore, but you sound like such a huge tool if you say stuff like "I would've loved this about a year ago when I liked genericore, but that has grown off me and it just sounds redundant" because a) you knew EXACTLY what this song would sound like b) you're definitely going to download the CD anyway c) whatever you think you've moved on to is probably just as generic in its own subgenre

Well said academy. I was gonna type something like this, but I scrolled down and saw this well put comment.
| |
I actually see your point now, and looking back that was a pretty toolish comment. fuck i'm becoming more and more of an elitist these days. Still think the song is average though.
| |
ty
i mean, i dont think anyone is expecting of mice & men to redefine the music we listen to lol... whatever... good subway/gym/driving tunes..
| |
lol thanks for teaching me something today. I agree music doesn't have to change the world haha.
| |
toolish or foolish or both
| |
I guess it's okay for what it is but this kind of metalcore generally doesn't do much for me
| |
^ my exact feelings about the song
| |
wow this song has a breakdown, and then another breakdown, and then a singy vocal part, and then a little riff!!!!!!!
| |
I don't like Shayley on this song at all and he was so great on the last album! Austin, do I even have to say anything about him? Back and better then ever with his unique never-ending screams. Hopefully I actually get to see him at warped this year! Can't wait for this album!
| |

sure their instruments are generic, but it flows so well so much better then most other "generic bands" and their screamer is anything but generic, one of the first (if not the first) to scream the way he does
| |
this song isn't good so stop it.
if you want to hear listenable genericore listen to Memphis May Fire's new album.
| |
Austin is a huge tool in my opinion but my god can the man scream.. he's so good.
| |
ugh, this shit is always catchy. I know it is bad, but its like GOD DAMNIT I CAN'T STOP.
| |
I like a lot of this music actually but I still think this band is embarrassing. Although that was better than first record material.
| |
I can dig generic metalcore but that was fucking awful.
| |
Solid, that's about it. They are good live, and it's not my preferred genre of music. And it's not really doing anything new. But oh well. Good stuff.
| |
No better, no worse than before. Can't complain
| |
Listened to the song right now. Though it did follow the generic metalcore formula, I found it more enjoyable than other metalcore bands. Solid song, might check out the band.
| |
their self titled album was pretty enjoyable at some points
| |
This isn't that bad. I've never been a big fan of them though.
| |
its okay.
| |
Song is bland.
WAT
Generic band makes a generic album, then they make a generic new song!?!?!?!?! FUCK LETS BITCH!!!
Actually, Austin's vocals are good, and thats all OM&M really ever was. A back-up band to showcase
Austin, kind of similar to Emarosa and Jonny Craiig, although Emarosa are good at their instruments.
Edit: Just listened to the song. Was actually catchy instrumentally. Nothing spectacular. Vocals are
somehow better then before without sounding any different.
| |
Austin's average, band is mediocre, song is typical.
stop arguing.
| |
well i'm not saying this is necessarily bad.
| |
a little boring, but not bad
| |
Song is so good; looks like another enjoyable album on its way.
| |
Cool.
| |
Yeah, this song was really good.
| |
Looking forward to this when I get back from work.
| |
If you liked their last album or are into the genre.. you'll love the hell out of this.
| |
top notch.
| |
on second thought i enjoyed that a lot. i was half asleep and not really paying attention when i listened last night
| |
OMG PEOPLE AGREED ON SPUTNIK?!?!?!?!?!!??! WAT!!?!?!
| |
It's catchy as hell, which is probably why I like so much. Really though, it's breakdown, after breakdown, after breakdown. Over and over again. They need to expand, because critically, they're getting worse every breakdown at a time.
Personally though, I love it.
| |
My favorite part is the one with the breakdown.
| |
Nah. The solo was pretty sick, yo.
| |
was gonna listen, then i decided to watch porn.
| |
Meh. Average shit from average band.
Pass.
| |
Can't stand the singer.
| |
Austin is pretty good but he never improves. I'm always looking for him to expand his range or do SOMETHING different from record to record, but he never changes. I mean don't get me wrong, he's good; I just want something different after awhile rather than just a one tone high pitched scream for like thirty songs.
