Dylan To Record new LP

2006-02-07 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 9 Comments
Bob Dylan will this week begin sessions for his first album since 2001's critically-acclaimed 'Love & Theft.'

The Poughkeepsie Journal (I'm not making this up) reports that Dylan spent four days last week rehearsing material with an unspecified band in the town's opera house.

Though Dylan hasn't released an LP in five years, he's released a number of tracks on various movie soundtracks, aswell as the soundtrack to 'No Direction Home,' a biopic of the man himself.

That's a source these days? :p Anyway, new Dylan stuff works for me, and we're due something anyway. His recent material has been pretty good, in my opinion...he went off the boil for quite a while, and he's never going to be as good as he was during the '60s, but I'm looking forward to this. This Message Edited On 02.07.06

Can't wait, Love and Theft was a very good album and I wonder if he can top that. I think he's still capable of making great music and I'm really looking forward to hearing more about this.

I can't believe it's been 5 years since his last album, seems like just yesterday. Time flies.

Bob Dylan post-60s has always been average for me but it will be interesting to here how old age is treating him, I guess?

edit: here wtf, I meant "hear", of course. This Message Edited On 02.07.06

I'm probably going to buy this one as soon as it comes out, whether it gets horrible reviews or not.

I liked Love & Theft too. Mississippi is a great track.
