Metal Blade Records? That's 80's Goo Goo Dolls. I didn't know it still existed.

Yeah, I was shocked when I saw that they used to be signed to them.
That aside; while I thought Elliott was intresting with the drums, the fact that he used double bass triggers annoyed me. I hope they find someone skilled.

These guys live by me. They're huge where I live. All the mteal fans love them.
|
| |
You're annoyed that he uses triggers? Uh, do you listen to metal or are you just here for the free food?
|
| |
Free food of course.
Yeah, I do.
To me it's different because it's a favorite band of mine, I usually don't care that much if it's someone else.
|
| |
forgive my lack of drum knowledge, but what are drum "triggers"? are we talking samples or something here?
|
| |
It's a device used on usually the double bass where you don't have to put as much pressure on your foot to get a good bang from the bass drum, which means you can go a lot faster with less effort
I like JFAC, I really want to hear this new album
|
| |
I wish this band was remotely good. =/
|
| |
yeah they're kind of generic as far death metal goes....(even though apparently they're "deathcore"). lots of tremolo riffs and stuff like that.
|
| |
Triggers dont necessarily mean less effort. If you're playing past a certain speed, you NEED triggers or else it just becomes muddy noise.
Sampled drums dont always mean it isnt being played by a real drummer (see: Into Eternity - Scattering of Ashes).
|
| |
There are some people who can pull of speedy double bass without triggers, and for others there's the triggers.
In some cases it sounds good. JFAC is one of those cases IMO.
|
| |
Im thinking about doing this >_> The song is fairly easy.

They're just a technical metalcore band with growling. It isn't actual death metal.

I wondered how Elliot went so fast.
Anybody know if the drummer from Animosity uses triggers. That definitely is not "muddy noise"
