I liked the music, the vocals were pretty bad for the most part. I should listen to it again though.

I'd have preferred it if Foals or Biffy Clyro had won but it could have been a lot worse.

Wild Beasts or Foals are way better, award was won based off buzz, nothing more.

I think xx deserved it- the record is an intense piece of music.
The fact that the vocals are bad doesn't matter, as that's not what they're going for. I think they deserve it.

The best thing the xx ever did was to provide the instrumentals to one of the best mashup mixtapes of 2010.

Aside from that, overblown hipster hype.

The xx are pretty ordinary, the Foals aren't great. Would have loved for Wild Beasts to have won. But then most of the music getting any attention in the UK is average at best at the moment anyway.

Truth. I enjoyed their album, but the mashup tape was SO MUCH BETTER. I think Biffy deserved it, if I had to choose between these few artists.

Music makes believers of us all. I have heard a hard scientistic atheist struggling, in quasi-religious terms, to explain the effect of a late Beethoven quartet, and I have seen a Schubert sonata render strong, dull men speechless and tearful. And, like almost every other baby-boomer, I can remember rock concerts when the sound, the movement and the intense involvement of the crowd transported me to...where, exactly? by ByNike Air Max TN
