I really like the death metal influences in it. Billie Joe is an excellent screamer. Those blast beats were brutal. And the breakdown at the end. Oh, the breakdown.

That's the great thing about being big. You could do small things like perform a new song, or say rude things about another person, and people are excite or anger.

American Idiot was VERY good, IMO, the best they had put out in about a decade (Warning was worse) and while Twenty First Century Breakdown was a major letdown, I agree, it had its moments.

I think the reason so many people hate them is 'they sold out' by not writing an album that was about masturbating. People hate when bands grow up.

Although... the whole make up thing doesn't help them any either...

They always did what THEY wanted, sure they are commercial now but they follow there own rules, same rules never changed in their lives.

I agree on too much Green Day hate. They're a good band that for most of their career were consistently great, and unquestionably one of the best and most influential pop-punk bands ever - that's a fact. Yeah, AI is a 3.5 at absolute best and 21CB is just average and lazy, but everything else was great.

It's not one of their best songs, but I'm not going to lie, I'm very excited for their live album. I went to my second Green Day show this summer, and they're definitely one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
