On Mechanics of Dysfunction does anyone know why the drums sound so perfect and fast? I know he can match it pretty much live, but how do the triggers work?

Weird. I didn't really like anything this band did, but I really enjoyed this song...it feels more "death metal" than the other stuff I've heard and has a really cool rhythm to it. The sweeping isn't as excessive and it's not a core element of the song, just has a cool central riff idea.

As for your question Brute, it's just super edited/layered. His entire kit is triggered and they take good samples of those and mix it with acoustics as well, though it sounds largely just triggered more so than anything else. Done to a click and produced well and that's pretty much it. Don't think there is anything particularly different or special about it as far as drum production though...just heavily edited.
