Mixing will be done by Jason Suecof, who has also mixed the albums of such notable acts as Chimaira and DevilDriver. I don't like the sound of this
hoepfully they will do something better than Elements
| |
plz be a good album
| |
Oh yes!
| |
I just blew my load spontaneously a BARE minimum of 72 times.
| |
back for good as in they will never ever break up ever?
| |
fuck yeah! thats awesome news!
| |
This is so awesome!
This almost makes up for Isis breaking up.

Scares the shit out of me too!
| |
"back for good as in they will never ever break up ever?"
Was thinking the same thing.
| |
First good metal-related news of 2010. Really excited for the new album.
| |
lol it's funny because they are atheistic but they're "back for good"
silly carbon-based organisms
| |
Happy panda is me
| |
Bit of weird choice having Jason Suecof mix the album...
| |
Cool.
| |
I don't see why Jason Seucof mixing is a big deal. I'm sure Atheist know what they're doing... and hes done really good work.
| |
because he generally mixes metalcore/groove shit. I'm pretty sure that's a reason to worry about
| |
I posted this news three days ago and it never got put up. What the hell?
| |
Gaytheist
| |
Looks like it could be cool. I just hope they won't go down the road that Cynic took with Traced in Air.
| |
but Traced in Air was awesome
| |
yes it was, and this will be too!
it doesn't matter so much who's mixing the record, i'm much more concerned with the quality of the music itself...as long as they don't let him play on the album, which he is notorious for.
| |
Last year when I saw/talked to them they said they were also trying to plan a tour with Cynic soon. Keep your fingers crossed.
| |
they'd better not pull a cynic with this one. but if it's really heavy as balls, then good
| |
youre jinxing it way to go ugh
| |
dead balls heavy
brutal
| |
Yay!
Jason Suecof does good things with young metal bands, so I'm interested to hear how he handles this.
| |
cool.
| |
I don't believe in this band.
| |
PLEASE DON'T MAKE A SHIT ALBUM, IT WOULD RUIN EVERYTHING
| |
Gnostic was fun, they still have it in them.
| |
I jizzed
| |
really interested to see how many fans they piss off. if they don't drastically change their sound, they won't have evolved enough for the cynic club. if they do change their sound, they'll piss off the everyone-else club.
will have the bottle of lol's ready
| |
I don't believe in this band.
Logic and reason state the technical death metal doesn't exist.
| |
Logic and reason state the technical death metal doesn't exist.
...what?
| |
no one cares what the 'Cynic club' think.
| |
Logic and reason state the technical death metal doesn't exist.
...what?
it's all a joke cause their name is atheist. i'm more humored by the fact that someone hates them enough to create an account named gaytheist.
| |
Spiral Architect needs to put out another album too, amirite?
| |
it's all a joke cause their name is atheist. i'm more humored by the fact that someone hates them enough to create an account named gaytheist. how do you know that? a swift check of his ratings and he gave Unquestioanble Presence a 5 ;)
| |
Hmm maybe -Jason Suecof + James Murphy? That dude knows deth metul, at least.
| |
omfg!
| |
fuckin' right, Unquestionable Presence was wicked, lookin' forward to this
| |
Good. Guess that means they'll be in town for a while. Got to party with these dudes last time they were in the A cuz JT is a friend of a friend. Pretty cool guys, especially Kelly.
| |
new Gnostic > new Atheist
| |
no
| |
no [2]
| |
More like HELL no.
| |
it's all a joke cause their name is atheist. i'm more humored by the fact that someone hates them enough to create an account named gaytheist. Hahaha, that's clever but I wasn't even thinking of the band when I made this account.
| |
Should be awesome stuff.
| |
Excited.
| |
Sooo pumped, this should kick ass.
| |
THEIR NAME IS ATHEIST
HO HO
| |
Looks like it could be cool. I just hope they won't go down the road that Cynic took with Traced in Air.
Silly silly, Traced In Air is the best thing they've ever done.
| |
^^^^Nah, they went all wishy-washy spacey with that album.
| |
: (
i would argue but I'm not elite enough.
| |
It actually sounds like they'll be moving into heavier/metallier/ballsier material than they've written in the past. If you think about it, Elements wasn't really particularly heavy anyway. (Oddly, it's my favorite Atheist album.)
| |
Elements was terrible, hopefully they stray to older stuff.
| |
was far from terrible but didnt have shit on the first 2
| |
So relatively terrible?
| |
no
| |
sounds good
| |
Jason Suecof makes money mixing for terrible bands but he's also played guitar in one of Atheists contemporaries (Capharnaum) and I'm pretty sure he knows that Atheist don't have the same sound as God Forbid.
| |
lol @ band name
| |
let's hope.
| |
i thought the title of this was "Atheist are back for God"
| |
Shits gonna rule
| |
More like HELL no.
impossible.
| |
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
yeah
| |
My dick just exploded.
| |
better be good or it'll tarnish them forever
| |
Definitely happy to hear this; however, not to happy to hear that Suecof is dealing with mixing. I'm not the biggest fan of his. Most of the stuff he deals with is trendy metalcore and stuff that has little talent.
| |
Read what I said earlier. Just because he knows how to make money doesn't mean he can't mix this album. He came out of the Florida death metal scene.
| |
I'm hoping for something between something as radical as Traced in Air and something as heavy as Unquestionable Presence. Meaning that's a huge fucking gap they could fill, but nonetheless I wouldn't be satisfied with either extreme.
